thats how my turbo (and manifold) looked when i pulled over after i blew the built motor. Everything was glowing cherry just like that, seriously. Thats not what blew it though

My header looked kinda like that before I wrapped it. It didn't glow quite THAT bright. That damn thing looks like it's about to drip off the motor and splat on the floor.

Wrapping a glowing manifold will successfully destroy it. If you're running that lean, then you have a real problem.

I've heard of it but never seen it. Ya gotta admit that it does look pretty cool though. If anything in my car ever gets that hot then I'll def know that I've gone too far!

Wrapping a glowing manifold will successfully destroy it. If you're running that lean, then you have a real problem.

The glowing condition was with the stock ECU. Now that I have MS installed, I've set the maps to run pretty rich. My autometer A/F guage stays in the green most of the time, except for on initial acceleration. (need to play with the acceleration enrichments a little more) I have'nt checked to see if it glows anymore, but I would think that blowing a bunch of unburned gas out of the exhaust ports would cause it to get pretty damn hot as well.
