hmm...yet another fake 3g catastrophe story. but sucks about the door. but at least it's your first time and hopefully it doesn't happen again.

yeah i almost hit it b-4 it is hard to drive the car u gotta give it alot of gas or it stall's out and u cant ease off the clutch it just pushs your foot off it alot of force

russiankid
03-11-2007, 04:53 PM
If you pulse the gas it wont take off fast. Plus learn how to drive a stick better that way it wont stall. I do not stall mine going up the driveway nor do i hit the garage door.

Then find the point where the clutch engages and don't let out to much clutch. And it also sounds like you have a vacuum leak.

you need one of these to help you with your driving, http://www.gemmy.com/products/largeImage/30655_copy.jpg
how did you hit a garage door? there are plenty of cars with much harder to operate clutches then the accord, and thier owners don't go through doors. why do you have a stage two clutch anyway? you haven't modified the motor. that seems like a lot of wasted time and money to put in. a stock motor isn't approiate for that kind of clutch.

cuz the shop said it was the only one thay got working thay tryed 3 diff stock ones and thay could not get the car to go in reversve :wtf: so thay put a Stage 2 one in thay said it was the only one thay got working and i was planing on fixing up the engine but i say fuck it now the car is hopeless and going to a JY in a few months so i can start looking for a hatch.....anyway idk how i hit the door i guse i was not paying alot of atenon and i had the radio all the way up ....anyway its no big deal and my perents thout it was funny as hell and kids next door allready crashed there bike into the garage door and dented it and we rent so who cares lol

I have the OEM Exedy clutch in mine and i have no problems with reverse. Sometimes it wont go into reverse, but if you put it into 1st then reverse it's fine. I cannot see how a clutch will prevent the tranny to go into reverse...

I think your mechanic was eithier :beer:or :bong:

Replacing the clutch is so easy. All you really need is a torque wrench, a few sockets, jack stands and a jack and a 2nd hand. You can rebuild an engine for $1200 or even less.

Were you taught how to properly drive a 5-speed?

Anyways i prefer a 5-speed. At first when my dad taught me, i didn't enjoy it because my dad has a bad temper at times, so any mistake he begins to yell. I ended up liking it and here i am driving a 5-speed as my DD :)

You shouldn't Feel bad:
My Parents got the car and used it before I got it last year after Selling my Cadillac, So heres there investment:
Cost of Car w/ 178,000 Miles: $2,500 (7-12-2001)

Front Calipers $300
Radiator: $300
Coolant Hoses: $100
Dizzy Cap, Plugs, Rotor: $140
Full Brake System: $1,200 (Due to improper install and ware of other parts)
Distributor: $140
NEW Cardone CV Half Shafts: $200 * I Bought Them
Used SE-i Wheels: $150 * I bought Them
Tires for SE-i Wheels: $350
KYB Struts: $230
Upper Rear Control Arms: $130
Install of Struts, Upper Control Arms, Dizzy: $400
[B]Now When I took the car Over:
Fuel Filters: $20

Tail Light Seals and Body Seals: $100
1997 Prelude CD Player: $80
OEM Brown Add On armrest: $40

So Total Family Interest In this car $7,697!
and the suck thing is it's a car that I don't feel like having a future with!
It smokes bad when I shift it, and it has decent rust, including the dreaded Wheel arch rust that has made a small hole in the arches.

So even know I feel stupid for what I invested in the car least it's a lot less then what my parents invested! One of the reason costs are so much for my parents are due to having a lot of mechanics screw them over.

My plan with the car is to Get a LX-i or SE-i and trade over any parts then can be traded, and Swap the old parts over to the LX and sell it.

last i checked, garages aren't allowed to just "fix things" without the owner's permission then when you come in say "oh, we had to do this, that, and the other too." if that's what happened, i'd report them. now if they called or you guys just said "go ahead, fix everything" when you dropped it off, then that's different.
