Here are some new pics of my 89 Accord LX-i Hatch. Yes, the tires on the rear do scrub. 205/60-15's with stock lift just dont work too well. The wheels look pretty good on it though.......Had to replace the rear hatch due to previous owner backing into something and crushing in the corner.

Here are some pics of my underhood and interior. Both need a good cleaning, just have not had the time lately though......I did figure out a way to mount to Pioneer 6x9's in the back though, and still leave room for the factory 5.5" speaker locations.

Well, I got another fellow 3g'er offering to trade me his 88 DX sedan and some $$$ for the car, he just posted up some pics of it today also.....
If that deal falls through, I plan to install a CAI, Header, 2 1/4" custom exhaust, SS muffler, and start reworking the interior with Red Borders on all the plastic.....Race Pedal kit, Arm rest center console upgrade if I can get one reasonable, Yada, Yada, Yada.....just all the normal stuff to get it going a little better than stock. Later on, of course will be a full body kit and new paint.

Sweet:thumbup:

Looks nice. Those are some meaty tires on the back. It sorta reminds me of a drag car. I noticed that you have the car parked without the ebrake on. Thats a bad idea, especially in a manual car. I ALWAYS use the ebrake.

Hate to do it, but I just posted this Hatch up for sale. Got another car last night and now I have to pay for it by selling this one.

$1,200.00 cash or best offer with the factory steel 14" wheels/tires and hubcaps. Pics are posted in the for sale section also with the factory 14's.

You call it Brown, I call it Burgundy....with a little Red Krylon on all the black plastic dash trim inside the car, and the newly installed white face dash cluster, it should still look pretty good I think.

Actually, all kiddin aside, I was thinking on Red under the hood in place of the Yellow???? Its harder to find the Red PVC tubing though.......I already had the Yellow......
Got a fresh couple cans of Krylon Red Plastic ready and waiting.......

I was also kiddin about the APC graphics too, and no I am not going to paint all the outside black trim White either.....:)

Here is a pic of the White dash insert overlay I just installed today.

I guess if I want to go FAST, I'll just drive my 325HP SBC 400 V8 powered 81 Nissan 280ZX throwing about 400 ft. lbs of torque to the rear wheels.... If I want good gas milage and a smooth ride to work and back everyday, I'll just drive the Honda and keep cleaning it up...:)

Nah, the intake pipe is alum., just painted Yellow. The small vacuum hoses in the pic are rubber PVC tubing though.
The paint works real well. Its for plastic or metal.

When you replaced the rear deck, did it come with the glass or does it unbolt?

BigDaddyJC
04-03-2007, 09:18 AM
Black is just plain factory. White would show too much dirt/grease. I think a Dark Red would match my interior best....
Dark Red it is then......:welcome:

I replaced glass and deck together. 4 bolts and the wiring harness and its off in ten minutes if you got someone to help you change it out. The harness plug on mine was nowhere to be found, so I had to cut the harness and splice it back together on the body after I changed them out. Make sure if you do this that you leave plenty of extra wire on both the hatch and the car when you cut them.

But this is a Honda Accord 3G forum......I thought pics of Hybrid V8 Zcars would be forbidden......?????

:) I'll post up some when I get time to snap a few. I am currently upgrading my pistons/rods and camshaft after a shot of NOS blew some rings, so the motor is out of the car right now.

Well, lot has happened since my last post. Sold my Hatch, found out my 81 280ZX is scrap iron due to chasis rust, bought an 86 LX-i sedan-5 speed....now in process of making my 73 Datsun 240Z into my V8 hybrid car...
Still dont have any pics yet of the 240Z or my new 86 LX-i sedan........more to come as the saga continues...........:nervous:

nice hatch i really miss mine.

why would you paint it with plastic paint? especially that color?

BigDaddyJC
04-11-2007, 06:44 AM
My plan for the Hatch was to have it repainted-Yellow, so the underhood area parts I painted were to match my future color scheme. Its gone now though, so it doesnt really matter anymore really. The new Krylon plastic paint works on metal and plastic, so why not use it? It worked just fine on the stuff under the hood for me.
I like my 86 LX-i sedan better myself though, cause its got more room in it for the family......:) Plus its still a 5 speed and fuel injected 2.0.

Well, the Nissan things is dust in the wind now. Both of them had too much body cancer to save. Ended up buying a 87 Mazda RX7 with Turbo rear swap to put my 400 SBC in now. Body on it is Perfect, and its got 4.10 gear ratio with independent rear suspension. I'll try to post up some pics of the RX7 next week.
My 86 Accord LX-i sedan is also in progress. Got my tires mounted onto the Ultra 15" Chrome Spoke wheels and plan to put them on the car tonight.
Also got a complete CAI ordered and on its way. Had 2 1/4" exhaust put under it yesterday from flex pipe back to stock muffler. Got a new SS Rage Euro muffler on the way also to help dress it up a little too.
Tomorrow, I have to replace the driver front brake caliper cause someone stripped out the brake bleeder. Got a new caliper, but now the blamed pin that holds the caliper to the spindle is seized and I cannot get the old caliper off. Guess tomorrow is a hunt at the local pull a part to find the pin and arm off another car so I can get the brakes working.
Then I get to start figuring out why the car will start up and run fine for a few minutes, then act just like it totally runs out of gas and dies. I have already installed a new fuel filter, so thats not the problem. Going to try another main relay first, then if that doesnt fix it, I guess its going to need a new fuel pump.
Guess my weekend is pretty much full up now........:wtf:

Posted up a couple pics of my 86 LX-i this morning. Got it going this weekend. Sure is good to be back to driving a Honda.......:)

Here are a few pics of my RX7 V8 Project also, in case some of you are doubting my claims of a V8 chevy powered Ricer. With no driver, this car will weigh 2880 lbs with the V8 swap. Not too shabby. Now if I can figure out how to get it to hook up in 1st and 2nd gear and not spin.......
