Thought I would throw this up in honor of my new header. It was built by the guy who made my first header, he's just getting a lot better at it. Sweet Curves, smooth as hell, jet hotted. Notice the 02 sensor point at the butt end, i.e. after the 4-2-1. better average there. I'm going to dyno with the existing header then throw this one on and see what the improvement is. Enjoy !!!!

Dang that is a very nice header. Get that thing nstalled, I am curiose as to how much HP you will actaully gain from it. What other items have you put on the motor?

You should dyno the 3g vs 4g MAP sensor while you're at it. :bandit:

I suppose i should supply a little background info. Here are a few shots of the car, obviously not a street car. I run in SCCA Improved Touring class B. I've been racing since May of last year and i bought the car prepped, much cheaper that way. Under the rules, the car has to meet a certain spec. Basically everything has to be stock but you have freedom on the intake, shocks, springs, transmission, and of course the header. There are rules around those as well, but you have some freedom. No turbos or supers or engine swaps, in fact the diameter of the valves has to be no greater than whats listed in the spec of the Manufacturer manual. IF you place in the top 3 they make you pull the intake and exhaust so they can measure inside. Means i know how to pull everything off and put it back on in about 45 minutes. The idea is to keep the competition even.
The guy who built my current header is the the person that built this one. He does it on the side and when compared to the current, this new one is much smoother and his welds are really improved.

Maybe because where he positioned where it joins into two threw him off!! all 4-2-1 ones are the same the firing order is 1342 so you'd have the primaries positioned like that to maximise exhaust speed velocity.

Dude your car rocks got anymore pics you can send me for my collection? or a cardomain site? You know Hotbits do a fully adjustable setup for your car and it's cheap too as it's all in Malaysian ringit!!

~Whats the rules on the ECU can you put an aftermarket one on? That would be worthwhile if allowed? Also whats the size of the main pipe on the header and diameter just before it expands out to the main bit? Looking forward to the rolling road is definately a nice piece of kit is it stainless or mild?

I'm running adjustable re-valved koni yellows all the way around. Springs i change up depending upon the track. I've heard the Hotbits are really good, you have experience with them?
I don't like to talk to much about the mods in place as I want to keep a little bit in my camp, I;ve been winning lately and would like to keep the competition in my rear view. Car domain is http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2583344

Not had them on them on the car yet but now that i've found out how cheap they are i'll be getting a set soon. I've had quite interesting conversations with them they can cater for pretty much anything and there stuff looks good quality and is very adjustable more so than the Koni's i would have thought. But hey good work nice to see someone serious about their hobby ;0)

Me too! But i'm still kicking the crap out of the GTI's, Jetta's, Mustangs, Volvo's, Porshce's, Daytona's, Celica's, Fieros, and BMW's I race against. All HP to weight ratio based.

Oh yeah power to weight ratio is the killer good job there aren't many 2G ludes left in good shape or you might have had some competition the only one i know of is Dave Grans 2G SI don't know if you've seen him racing bright yellow lude? He's even got his own book on budget racing!!

This is my other toy road going version of this beast first Diesel in BTCC racing in U.K.

I think Dave runs in ITA? or I'd be chasing him. I think its only 1G preludes i've got to worry about, and they're 100lbs lighter than me. I know its a fast car and I need to buy his book. I've heard he's a great guy too. Nice ride by the way!!

Thanks I love it but it's just not the same as the webered powered Lude!! Something about lack of power steering the gas smell, the nec and arm ache from racing for acouple of hours, the noise and headaches you don't get any of that in the Beemer!! It's good fun but just lacks that special racing feeling you get in a proper race car!!

But the 210bhp and 300lbft of torque is handy for trailoring the Lude about ;0) Amongst other things too!!

The Racing version above has two specs endurance version 245bhp and 350lbft torque and the full race non endurance version has 265bhp and 400lbft of torque!! Working on getting a company to produce a custom ally intercooler combined with 3.0d injectors, new exhaust system mandrel bent stainless steel bit bigger diameter much smaller back box hoping to get to about 225-230bhp and 320-330lbft torque before having to resort to hybrid turbo etc. Also less chance of engine going bang especially with cooler intake charge!! All i had done to engine at the mo is pipercross replacement filter and a DMS remap and 30k miles of running in!! does 1/4 in 14.9 seconds for a car that weighs 1.5 tons is a miracle!!!

Surprised you haven't found a way of removing the Power steering that must be a few bhp drain on the engine not to mention a few extra pounds!!!

I'd love to get rid of it, but it's illegal to remove. In fact when i bought the car it was gone and after going through the rules i found that i had to put it back in... bummer, but rules are rules :banghead:

I got permission to give out the email of the guy that made the headers! His name is Juston Poole and he lives in Atlanta. [email protected]
He is a great guy and gets a vouch from me! Expect to pay a K for jet hotted and shipped unless you buy as a group and he can get the price down. He also does other headers so there is no harm in asking.

Its a nice header, but i dont think its worth it for anyone that isnt using it on a race car. For doing the type of racing that your doing where there are rules for what modifications that can be done its a great upgrade, but for the guys that are just looking for more power from their daily driver its way to expensive. Have you ever gotten it dynoed? You should a before and after with it and see exactly how much you gained.

it might sound like that if you don't merge the exhaust into 1 at the end... but it's not a 4-2 header.

Wow what an interesting peice of engineering... it changes the merge to help low end... I'm sure taking it off all together though will help top end.
http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mchonda/00929.html#03

It actually changes between Sequential Pairing 180* 1 & 2 . 3 & 4 , and Non-Sequential 360* 1 & 4 . 2 & 3

Sequential and Non-Sequential is a term I see used by SMSP when refering to their headers.

180 VS 360
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b351/Wendy_girl/180.jpghttp://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b351/Wendy_girl/360.jpg

Problem is I see people saying that the valve increases backpressure and that is what helps the low end... they think it's just a restrictor (http://www.jdm-per4mance.com/images/hondaECV%5B1%5D.JPG)but actually it's switching between 180 and 360 so backpressure should be the same.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b351/Wendy_girl/CBR929.jpg

found a nicer full picture, I guess depending how you have to install it will determine which pairing you will get to use.
