Yeah, I definitely agree with CAH. As far as the sub box goes, thats a little massive to be putting in a car. Its not an Escalade. Its going to feel noticeably heavier. And next time you should probably just put out the money and get some fleece from the store to stretch across before you fiberglass/bondo it up. Depending on what that blankets made out of I wouldn't be surprised if the box cracked and crumbled apart after a few months of abuse from all that base coming from those ridiculously huge subs.

But, props for doing your own work and the effort behind it.

thank yall for such freakin fast posts man i thought i would at least take a week or two lol but yeha ill thake all that in consideration ill just throw my emblems from my 89drag car over on it they are still the chrome stock finish yeah lol carpet my bad it was in my living room and ive still not finished ive actuall messed up its not going to be too weak its going to be too strong i had the local audio/customs shop calculate and its too small so i will not be getting the full thump of the 2000 watt subs but it will do b/c of those annoying stock speaker pods in the read i had no room yeah i was suprised but it only weighing in at 30lbs thats with subs and enclosure the subs are pioneer 2kCF carbonfiber i had them specal ordered from my local audio/customs shop for 263.00 each i only have $124.23 in the enclosure so im not out much if it breaks but i dobt the 16layers/3gallons of fiberglass will peace

well technicually i didnt rebuild it the guy i bought it from at the customs shop did the boring and droped in the pistons and rings and an new ISKY racing cam all i did was reassembly it

Sounds a little high for the HP numbers, lets see some more pics. Also if you actually have that much HP then that speaker box is going to eliminate all that power. Welcome to the hatch club :welcome:

not to bust your bubble, but i didn't know our ecu can be chipped and mapped. so unless you're obd-1, http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bsflag.gif. beyond that, sounds good. but not for 166 hp. the openloop coupe dyno'd at 165 wheel and they'd converted to obd-1 and had a pretty extensive mod list. headers, exhaust, cam, welded combustion chambers, higher compression pistons, etc.

ok mike10562004 why does your car domain say that you have a 2.3L, if the motor was bored .30 over that dosent make it a 2.3L. It would still be a 2.0L, also those dyno results dont match the TQ numbers you stated.

It doesn't make peak horsepower where he said it did, either. Something smells fishy here.... I want to see engine bay shots, and they better be very impressive.

come on, buddy. you have to to do better than that. you're telling me that you're running 163 hp on the stock airbox? that doesn't sound right to me. there's a reason we all ditch our stock air intake system and it's not because we get to put in shiny pipes instead. and then, i see stock wiring + vacuum advance distributor. that means you have NOT converted to obd-1. so :bs: on the chipped and remapped ecu because the a20a3 ecu can't be chipped or remapped. and since you're not obd-1 or running some webers, i don't see 163 horsepower in your future unless one of those two requirements is met. like i said before, the openloop accord had a much more substantial mod list and they were barely hitting 165 at the wheels. of course, if you're not claiming wheel hp but engine, you should be getting about 150 at the wheels at the most.

We know he's not making 163 with stock intake,headers and vacuum advance, but don't flame him too bad. He can learn a lot from this site and it would be a shame if you guys scared him off.

this is getting boreing lets just stop and listen to what the dyno says being that it can actually tell better then what the manufacturers hype about hey

either someone jacked your pic OR that's not your car. the pic address tells us that that's jeremy lookofsky's civic, so that's 1 point against you.

What does Hondata do?
Hondata modifies standard Honda engine computers (ECUs), adding features and expanding the capabilities of the ECU (e.g. for forced induction). Several products are offered, including tunable systems, tuning software and datalogging software.

I see a nitrious bottle in the one pic. Unless you running a 75HP shot your not pushing 163HP. Whoever sold you the car lied to you. Its not possible to run a stock intake and exhaust system, obd0 and things like that and put out that much power. And you cant have a performance ecu, its obd0. An open airbox will add 3HP not 10-15, no cat will add about 2HP not 12. Where did you get it dynoed at? i think you should get it done again. I have a lot more mods then you do and im no where near that.

dang dude i didnt say that was mine i googled drag engine and that came up i was trying to make a point that my class that i race in is different then the class that engine would be in its turboed and direct ported nx so its different from mine personally i dont like vtechs they sound too hard to rebuild

no, he's saying that the engine he put the picture of is turbo and running direct port nx. but i googled the guy (jeff lookofsky) and he apparently runs all-motor = no turbo or nx there.

sry people i thought the nos tank and the big o tube goingto the intake manigold would give that away plus i kinda dont like flashing the n2o around being that it illegal last time i checked has that changed?

if you bought them bc you were buying 11 sec cars, then yeah, you got ripped big time. these cars are in the high 16s, 17s stock, and most people can't get much below the mid 15s without extensive mods (aka turbo). but they're good cars anyway, and can feel pretty quick (even if they really aren't), especially if you strip them out. and if you don't mind making your own stuff and have a few dollars to throw away at them, there's real potential in these motors for turbo applications since they have the iron block. and your pix didn't load the first time, just the engine bay pic. so with all the colors, it looked like you were just having fun with colored electrical tubing on the wiring harness.

yeah, sorry to say, but you have the noob thing against you. so don't take it so personal. sorry if we seem a bit uppity and know-it-all. it's just that we've seen what these cars can and can't do. and if that's a crank dyno, it's a little easier to believe than a wheel dyno. i know someone on here got his car dyno'd with cai, dc headers, and full 2.25" exhaust/hi-flo cat and he only put down about 105. :) and yeah, our cars, do smoke civics since we have a little more torque.

Go to howstuffworks.com and figure out how it all works, then come back, search for about 2 months, then post up once you've learned a thing or two.

ok, im not sure what the fuck ported pistons are, but even if you do have titanium rods, which i would venture to say that you probably dont, you cant just add a turbo, it would take a lot of fab work, and a t4 is WAAAAY to big for any form of a20. I have a good sized t3/t4 turbo that I am planning on using on an 8000 rpm drag motor, i dont plan on having boost until 4500 rpm though lol.

if you know the turbo basic then you know you cant just ask how many psi to run. run 20 psi, its the only way you will beat a 13 second fwd car. but you will blow your motor before you hit 3rd gear to even hit your nitrous. plus unless you have slicks you wont be moving anywhere anyway.

how are you planning on tuning the car for a turbo setup? who is building your turbo manifold and downpipe? what bov are you going to use, what injectors? what type of spark plugs will you run, at what gap? are you planning on running high boost with 9.3:1 compression, or going low compression? tell you what, paypal me $5000 and I will help you order all the stuff you need to beat this integra.

those are valve reliefs. :) stock a20 pistons have 4 of those little pockets. for our 3 glorious valves. :) sorry but thats nothing special unless you had ultra domed high compression pistons that WOULD HAVE hit valves, but clear because you made deeper valve reliefs.

Realize 1 turbo per cylinder bank is the best route for maximum power and efficency, dual turbos are a waste and only meant for quick spool.
