View Full Version : How much for your Accord if you have to sell it today?

For extremely economical reasons and because where I liveit it is very difficult to get parts for this type of car, I´m considering to sell it now that it is still in good shape, my accord 87 lx is in stock condition, no mods at all, all original, almost intact and I love her, since it is my very first car, some fellow told me it is worth no more than $1500, but I have a feeling that I could get $2500 if some newbee go for it.,

I was a car newbee three years ago and I paid $2000, now I'm trying to get the investment and maybe a little more.

Now, the question.

If you , for some reason, would have to sell your accord today, with all of your mods and stuff, How much do you ask for it?,

Some secondary question : Is there any possibility to get a (88-89 LXI) accord from the USA shipped to my Country ( Nicaragua ) for about the same money I'm asking for my actual car ? $2500

I mean, I want to start all over again, I have a 87 carburated, would like a LXi, not likely to get it here, but maybe imported, What would you think.

If you know someone who would like to take a big ride and come by land from USA, to Nicaragua, just for fun, I would buy his car with no doubt for a reasonable price, the he can return by plane, well, it could be..just an idea.

Thanks.

Considering i sold mine in feb for 1700k in just 3days of being up for sale, i would not take less than 1800. Im sure if i had hold up longer i would have gotten closed to 2k but i was desperate to get rid of it so fast it went.

I did'nt know this accord were so low priced. I'm stunned at this fact, 1000 for the accord, no way, no in this country, maybe in USA where you can get a car for $500 and up.

Imagine this, I get my first car when I was 30 years old, most people here, maybe 3/4 people here dont ever have a car, we are a poor country.

You guys have a car since high school, and can get it for a extremely low price and up.

Here, with a bank loan, years of savings or you are 1/4 of the people, ruch ones.

Yeah it all depends on your local economy. I would expect to get around US$1350 for mine, and it's a mint 2.0Si (DOHC EFi) model with only 94,000km (56,000 miles). Maybe $1500 once I've converted it to 5 speed.

I'm sure it would be worth more in the US, but New Zealand's used car market is flooded with jap imports so here the value is low.

Yeah that ride would do great on eBay in the US.

Probably not too much for mine.... 378k miles, rusty fenders, dents in the roof, peeling clearcoat, no carpet and half the interior plastics are in my closet. She runs and drives fantastic though!! Everything works, a/c and all. But still I'd say probably $500 maybe, if that

mine,
worth more parted out because of the 'rare' upgrade parts
but as is, with no AC, 1500 I guess. Insurance would probabley give about 500 if it were totaled
To me it is priceless:bow:

if mine were up for sale, i'd like to think i could get $2000-$2500. but that would be with the performance parts (aka dcs headers, exhaust, eq, armrest) in it and a desperate buyer. realistically, i probably could get $1500 at the most since the tranny is going quicker and quicker every day. it's the worst in the winter, when it's cold. also, interior isn't the greatest shape, no a/c (in socal!), clearcoat is fubar, new front bumper cover needed, and the powersteering is shot, as are the cv joints. so yeah, i'd ask probably $2000 (because i have the parts to fix it, just not the time) but i would take $1500. and man, frantik. $3500, that's a good deal right there. i'd almost say you should've taken it and bought an eg coupe. follow the path busted_blue blazed... jk

Americans in general drive frequently on highways, which means older cars have very high mileage. My 3geez has over 220,000 miles on the odometer. In countries where people drive less, I would think the resale value of the 3Geez would be better. Besides, Americans treat cars badly.
