Its an old hot rod trick. Never heard of anything doing on EFI though.
I plan on mixing some moth balls in with some gas. Anybody know if it will screw up the injectors or anything.

Eather and Toulene are the only two things you can mix with gas that make any noticible.
Methanol would be better but theres no doubt it would melt the foam in the fuel cell. Everybody would be able to smell it anyway.

oh...so you rebuilt the engine.....anyways how about some high octane fuel instead of stuff that could eat up seals.

how about some headers?

Stock exhaust only. They'll be able to see a header as soon as I raise the hood.
If rules wernt a problem Id put a turbo on it.

Toulene will increase octane, not power. There's a distinct difference between the two.

I understand this. Im not asking if you think it will help or not. Im asking if it will damage the fuel system.

I am having really good luck with Acetone myself. Been using it for more than a year so far. It is a very good Octane booster. I can run 89 and acetone no ping on my Honda were as it would ping just a little between shifts with 93.

On my old dirty dodge I got the timing jacked up to the moon and I can run it on 87 /Acetone no ping where on just 93 its still pings hot WOT.

The stock manifold really is just a log header anyway the gains be so minimal. You could mess with the exit end a little and make sure the divider is nice and smooth.

I just use 2-4 ounces per 10 gallons of gas.

Ether may not help engine performance, but put some on a rag and inhale and it will improve your mood! Woo hoo!!
