Got a Magnaflow cat and XL muffler w/ 2.25" put in last week. It was on the lift earlier getting a new driver side axle installed so I took some pictures. I used the tip the previous owner had on the car since it wasn't bad looking but I had them mount it much further in so it wasn't poking out rice style.

It sounds pretty good. The note is perfect but I wish it was a hair quieter. I don't like having a loud car without the horsepower to back it up but I'll just have to work on that.

So you still have the stock down pipe and flex pipe? Anyways looks good.

Yeah I'd rather not install that Pacesetter as I doubt it is much better than 88-89 stock. But I'd love a DC Sports.

I felt the same way when I had my exhaust done, I ended up installing a resonator to quiet it down a little

the stock manifold is like 20 pounds....even if it does not flow any better you will still see some weight reduction.

Yeah a bolt on dyno would be cool.

Did you feel any noticable gains afterwards or was it only ear pleasing performance you got?

Yeah it's definitely better around 3.5-5k rpm, nothing mind blowing but improvement none the less. The exhaust and the sound of my intake together at high rpms is pure sexiness.

Nice looking exhaust there E Prophet.
yea I am hating my exhaust now the muff is broke in and everybody is trying to get away from me or race me.:gun: Hell a dam tandam dump truck even was trying to race me. This is really not good because the weber is not getting full pull from the cable. Shamefully admitting now that an Aveo with an old couple pulled on me big time on the interstate and there was nothing I could do:violin:
The pacesetter header will help just like a dc , it just isnt made as well and yea it does have a little better flow top end with the 421.
The headers really help at certain loads/at rpm, you can feel it, just like you can tell the diff with the larger pipes and magnaflow.

But the 88-89 is 4-2-1. And yeah everyone wants to race now and I'm not much of a racer. Funny thing is I see nice $30-40k cars that rev up their engines beside me like they have to impress me. Do they realize they're threatened by a $600 3g?

thats lovely and even fits perfect...,mind you it prolly was done by a muffler shop not a mate with a mig i payed him $40 to do lol. i wish i had the funds to use new pipe. i have 2.25" used pipes. mines quiet and sounds good cause i used 3 mufflers. to quieten it i used a straight through coby muffler cause mine used to fart until i got it rebuilt. maybe ill get mine done by a muffler shop:O
