When you're empty and you fill back up is it taking around 16 gallons?

I get around 25mpg in the city with one hell of a lead foot.

but like its really sluggish up hills i can get more then 20 -30 mph
in my white accord i get like 30 miles to the gallon if i drive like a regular person and just have a heavy foot through 1 2 and 3 then i can go a whole payperiod (two week) with out filling up so what the hell?
also i think there is a leak in my exhust from the muffler cause it smells like exhust fumes when the windows are up and you get really dizzy(shit imma get flammed for that )

My 3gee was getting shitty gas milage and acting really sluggish on hills and then my clutch went out.
replaced my clutch and the MPG's went back to normal (around 23MPG city)

yeah on my dx i get around 340 miles a tank....on my lx-i the worse i ever got was 250miles a tank.....that was me reving the shit out of the car. but i get around 300 miles......most of the time i dont shift till 4k

Since i have a carb, driving at 2500rpm idle is no fun. So gas goes there, plus i take short trips to school. The trip is max 15 minutes, and i do about 12 miles a day.

Either your sending unit is inaccurate or you do not have a 16 gallon tank.

because i filled it up (i know cuz the gas spilt all over my pants and overflowed out the tank lol)
and it was off by a couple gallons i was on e and i filled her up and it was 9 gallons so yea

Top your tank off completely and reset your trip meter. Then after 200 or so miles top it off again. Divide what your trip says by what you just put in your tank and I bet your mpg is a least a little better than 10.

Something ain't right is sounds like.

My carbed automatic sedan gets a pretty conisistant 29 mpg and that is not babying it either. And the car is really not tuned in perfect, it needs different jets, and tweaking.
