about a few days ago, i got in my car and turned on my car. I noticed that I am not hearing my radio. it was working about an hour before. I checked the cd player and it's on, but no sounds comes out the speakers. I tried a cd with the same outcome, no sound. I don't think that it's the connection because whenever i would change the volume or change it from cd to radio or vice versa that the speakers would make a click or tick sounding noise. I have no idea what it could be. Could it be that i just need another player?

p.s. the player that i have right now is pioneer DEH. It's about 2-3 years old.

if you have any question, please feel free to ask. thank you.

if it is the internal amp, would it be better to just get another head unit?

hook up the rca out to a stereo in the garage, or anything you can get to reach.

cheaper to get a radio that works right
plus he doesn't sound like he cares about how loud it is just as long as sound comes out

check the fuse for the head unit. I had a pioneer unit that did this, and I thought the internal amp had blown, so I chucked it. Turns out when I put in a new head unit, the fuse in the fuse box was blown, but had just enough contact left to power the display and everything, just not the amp.

thanks for all of the responds and help. i'm already starting to like this site. i think that i'll just go ahead and get another cd player. i put in my older cd player and it works fine for now. it has a few things wrong with it, but it works for now. i'll be getting a new one soon. thanks again for the help.

p.s. i just noticed that i put this on the wrong thread. sorry bout that. haha.

if it is ur internal amp, before you install a new stereo it might pay to check your speakers and speaker wiring to make sure your not ooverloading the poor thing

i don't think it's the speakers. as i mentioned, i installed my older cd player and the speakers work fine. there are just a few small problems with my older cd player and that is why i need to get another one.

i might get a 'hand-me-down' alpine deck. i'm not sure what kind though, but i'll see how that goes before i go and spend money. I'm a little broke right now, but if it's needed then i'll go ahead and spend the money. It feels awkward when driving w/o music.
