To start im A20A3's brother and i used to have a 87 hatch but i had to sell it. i just resently purchased steveDX's accord and im very impressed with all the time, dedication and effort that was put into this car. im very surprised no one else bought this car. I was gonna go CB7 but, i saw saw this car in the market place and had to buy it. as far as the oil pressure problem im convinced it's the hose and/or gauge. the motor sounds great no signs of low oil pressure cold or after it's warm. the shifter bushing has been ordered from honda, it's on the way. im having the front lower control arms replaced with the ones that came with the car and it's going to be aligned as well. I bought a new battery today and the car starts right up everytime now. sounds great. great job steve. pics coming soon. all in all, definitely an awesome 3G Accord.

damn someone actually bought it... i was going to buy it but finances ran tight.

since its in easton MD....i would like to know if you and your bro would be interested in a car meet back in york,PA on june 23rd? steve you can come out and see your car. the meet is at john rudy county park. it is a civic meet but not only civics attend. last year we had everything from a camaro SS to a damn geo metro. but it was fun times. everyone there would appreciate the work done to this car...i know i have in the past. ive met steve in person and seen this car in person and let me tell you. this car is no joke.

heres a link to the thread about the meet. http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=103012

anyone here is welcome to come along. we love all hondas! lol but if you want to go please register there and post that youll be there...or just show up. we will have a cookout but please post there if you plan on eating at the cookout...so we know how much stuff to buy..

the guy organizing the meet has a new FiT but....he has to trade it in on a pickup truck for family reasons...were all not happy about it but you gotta do what you gotta do.

yeah the motor in that car is solid no leaks, and the oil PSI turned out to be the gauge line after all. steve definitely did a great job and i would definitely be interested in replicating the mounts/linkage/maybe axles/whatever possible later on down the line if anyone might be possibly interested...

i'll be making sure he doesn't kill it...

Glad to hear you got the oil pressure problem fixed. That pisses me off tho cause I could have been driving it for a year instead of it sitting around. Oh well. Keep me posted with your progress and I'm glad you're happy with it.

On a side note, I'm now looking for my new car. Turbo power coming soon. :D

update : car crapped out coming back from a clubrsx meet across the bay. $200 to get it towed back(at 1 in the morning hahah) we thought it was spark, disassembled the dizzy and put it back together and back on, no problems with spark. fuel press. started diving so we think it's the pump. the pump is getting power so i dunno. we got tired of coming to dead ends with it so it's at the shop right now. me and naggzy(my bro) are looking into a JDM LS and then putting his vtec head on it, or CRVtec...pics and updates coming soo. (we finally have access to a digital camera now!)

that sucks.....i had to tow a parts car and they wanted 8 bucks a mile. so i just called my AAA plus and they towed it 95 miles. so that is like 800 buck tow....thank god for paying an extra 45 bucks a year.

AAA Plus is one of the great bargains out there if you have older cars. I have 6 people on mine (me, wife, 3 kids and a brother), which means my membership gets 18 tows per year, all of 'em up to 95 miles. I've had my car picked up and delivered from a repair garage a couple of towns away, I sent a Lincoln convertible 90 miles to a restoration shop, etc etc. It's great, for less than a couple of hundred per year.

That pump came from HostileJava used and had been sitting for a while so it wouldn't surprise me if that was it.

update - the main relay died and that's what caused it to die on us like that. we got it running again but there is ZERO oil pressure. i guess we're gonna try to throw a new pump on there but we're all leaning towards getting another longblock from japan and just dropping it in. the car will live again, and very soon at that. i'll keep you guys posted.

nice, good thing you didnt go with a cb7. they are played out, imo. and an ass to work on compared to a 3gee. i mean i didnt ever like working on them compared to other models. although i'd get a wagon if i could find an EX model with rear disks and 145hp engine.

Damn!! Im drooling!! Those pictures really make me think really hard about not selling my 3gee. It looks like my twin. (minus the engine =) )

I dont know what it is but when a 3gee coupe looks that nice it makes my cb7 look so common and bland.

When my 3gee was up and running I got way more looks then I have in the cb7. Driving a cb7 just doesnt feel the same as a 3gee. It makes me cry mine isnt running.

stock it only makes like 10 less than our motors:violin:

B16A 160hp 111tq STOCK
A20A3 125hp 12x? tq STOCK

8000rpm vs. 6200rpm....

plus i'd rather run 14's than 16's.

i mean don't get me wrong, i still love my A20 more than any Bseries, but there's only a handful of these swaps and to have one sitting in my driveway is pretty awesome. lets not hate now.

im not talking all A-series but mine revs up to 7k....and its dyno tuned with a cam...i know its still stock but with major bolt ons. right now my hp and torque puts me at like 16-15 secs quarter mile.

not bad man that's what i'm working on now. stage 2 cam, 2G lude valvesprings, OBD1, header, clutch. then comes the weight reduction. i wanna try to get the car into low 15's(or even a 15 flat)before i boost it. i think it can be done with those mods and a couple hundred pound diet on the coupe. we'll just have to see. as far as naggzy's car...all i can say is rebore and C5 head....

it didn't pass inspection for the H4 headlights, front lowers and 1 upper balljoint, the absence of the power steering, and they couldn't get the wheels off to check the brakes(stupid lug nuts stripped the key that was for them)

we got a manual steering rack on the way, gonna swap headlights, and install some suspension parts. gotta get some different lugs too.

damn maryland has some bad-ass inspections sounds like...when we had them (back in 2001, havent had them since) all they checked was that all your lights worked and your brakes would hold your car at 1000rpm haha.

yeah man MD is rapeage with the inspections. well in 2009 we can get historic tags for these 89's so we'll never have to worry about it again.

My B18C1 in my 96 Integra GSR wasnt a torqueless engine LOL. That was one fast friggin car for stock. Cant tell you HOW many fools I spanked on the interstate and in town with it. Usually, if I lost a race, number one it was a very rare occasion, and number two, they could usually just barely creep ahead of me at about 130-140, and those guys were mostly boosted.

My Teg in it's stock form was faster than my high 13 second Ram Im sure, though I never got to hit the track with it before it got totaled last year (hail storm)

You have one hell of a fun looking car. I'd love to drive a swapped Bseries 3G. Hell, kicking myself for not buying back my Teg to pull the engine and drivetrain, etc from it, to build a serious sleeper out of my 3G..... Hindsight's 20/20.....

we didn't. there's like no such thing or something. people say there is, people say there isnt. personally i'll believe it if it's sitting in front of me. a converted rack is about the best i'm workin with. they ended up ghetto rigging something and then just signing the inspection paper. needless to say the car doesn't have P/S anymore. again. hahahahaha

stat1K
02-29-2008, 11:34 AM
yeah i know there's no such thing or it's rather rare i was just wondering if you had a source that had a few and to share if so... the best thing we have come up with so far that appears to be pretty close is a 2g accord manual rack and nissan tie rod ends... with converted mounting tabs.
