S model?

hey guys, why does my both hatches say s on the rear filler panel instead of dx or ex , i thought somebody cut off the letter to make it look like an sei or something but they are both 88 accord hatches and both carbed.

In Canada they had an S model. I believe it is like a DX or LX, cannot tell for sure.
