ok im looking at buying some 17 inch rims this week due to some debts been paid off, thing is, ive already read this FAQ regarding the issue with tire rub with certain tire combos .... but my problem is that im almost certain im looking at 17 inch rims that are 205/45/17 or 215/45/17

so my question is, i know i know if its NOT listed in the following list, it will rub but i was thinking its more of an issue if you're ridin around in a slammed ride. im currently running stock height but planning to lower it with 1.5 inch springs in the very near future.

so anyways, my real question was can i get away with the 205/45/17 and 215/45/17 with stock height AND 1.5 inch drop height?

much appreciated to the fellas that can help out. and i did post this thread here solely because im looking for a quick response due to the fact the guys thats sellin em is about to leave this area pretty quick.

thanks again,

14" 195/60-14
15" 195/55-15
15" 205/50-15 (195/50-15 not proper plus size, too short)
16" 195/50-16 (a tad taller at +2.0%, 205/45-16 is a better choice)
16" 205/45-16 (205/40-16 not proper plus size, too short)
16" 215/45-16 (a tad taller +1.7%, requires that you have 45mm offset rims)
16" 205/40-16 (Technically not a proper plus size, but not off as much -1.9%
17" 205/40-17 (215/40-17 a tad tall at +2.4% requires 45mm offset)
18" 215/35-18 (requires 45mm offset. NOTE: tire is 3.1% too tall)

I had 17x7.5 on 215/40's with only minimal rubbing with the rear quarters inner lip rolled up. i was lowered 1.5 at the time and my camber was set at around -1 degree.

I also had 205/45 on a 17x7 rim with very minimal rubing on completely bottoming out

roll your fender lips and set your camber at about -1 and shouldnt ave any major rubbing problems.

215 45 is a little much I wouldnt try it.

my advice is go with some 16's, i wish i had. i hate having to drive carefully with my 17's. i have 205/40's on them. offset on them is 42mm. i have no tire rub at all and can turn the wheel all the way left or right and still have a tight turning radius.
