Well they don't tell you when you fail, it's the law. But it turned out to be an "Oxygen sensor". No biggy, but it made for dramatic video.

I work on the "pieces" before I edit the video. So the pics of the car were being made weeks ago. I work for a graphics company so Photoshop IS my thing. It didn't take a long as you might think. The Nascar view took 2 hours, maybe.

I can't believe that people are so willing to scrap cars they've owned for a long time. I mean if they are dangerous fine, but I feel the car is due some effort toward keeping if it has been reliable. And in my case why scrap a great car? I'll admit vanity, jelousy and the "Bling" of the new models has played a part of my history with the car. Heh what a great episode! Thanks.

Yeah I can't compete with that. Nor am I gonna try. This whole thing is about me and this Accord, how much I love to drive it, and the opportunity for you folks to buckle in and watch this 500,000 mile event unfold with me. There have been others, probably many, many others who have done this. Just a few that have captured that moment on video, and certainly none that have chronicled the situations the owners of high mileage cars deal with. It's to that end, and simple entertainment that I'm pushing forward, on my way back.

Well it had a long journey. That radiator hose makes me think...i have after market ones too. How old were yours? Mine aren't even a year old yet.

I don't remember how old the hoses were, but I still is frustrating to me that that's what killed the car. Be warned.

Contact me via email and I'll see what can be done. As far as seeing with your own eyes, you may have to settle for what everyone else is doing. Watching on YouTube. There was some thought about selling a "ride along" as the odometer turns on ebay but logistically that would be tough to coordinate.

In the end I paid like 2k to fix it. Way cheaper than a new car, and I got what I wanted. That was three plu years ago, and 90,000 miles. I couldn't be happier, ah, until I get my S2000. (Hint, hint honey)

Also I'm glad after the unfortunate events that caused my car to go down, and with the love I had for the car, to see the lights go to a cause like yours.

While I may learn much from parting out the car, It still saddens me every time I Look at it.

I'w working on it now. But my plans are big and my time is limited. I'm also going to be away for a week flying to North Carolina for a wedding. But I'll be back in earnest, and hope to have it done in three to four weeks. I know I know but if it's gonna be quality I'll need the time.

Isn't that wild. It's gotten better, but back at episode 6 or 7 it was making lots of noise and the needle was bouncing around pretty far. I think what set it off was the episode that I did the roll going from 0 to 100 mph. I backed up for a quarter mile to time the roll like it happened. That backwards odometer action really bothered the cable. Seems better now, not so noisy anyway.

I can't believe that people are so willing to scrap cars they've owned for a long time. I mean if they are dangerous fine, but I feel the car is due some effort toward keeping if it has been reliable. And in my case why scrap a great car? I'll admit vanity, jelousy and the "Bling" of the new models has played a part of my history with the car. Heh what a great episode! Thanks.

I've replaced the clutch 3 times, various waterpumps and timing chains, the radiator. But that's about it. After 528,000 miles my speedometer finally died. All that excess speed and all.

Congrats Roy!!! Shame I missed this whole thing but luckily I just caught the thread tonight and caught the magic moment, 500K!! Your last video was great, singing was good to you're on key, plus the subject of the song is great lol.

If you need any small parts let me know I have a lil blue just like yours only it's an 89, and two parts cars to use to get mine back into shape again.

I appreciate the time you've spent on the series and the excitement of something most people would consider, well, a reason to send you to a psychiatrist lol. It's the simple things in life that keep us going. Im hoping once I get lil blue back up and going that I can drive it until my girls are as old as your kids so they can remember and enjoy it too.
