I looked thru the Post in the DIY Section http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7316
For engine and trans removal. I am rebuilding my 89 DX and want to leave the 5 speed in. Has anyone just pulled the block only? Looks like tight clearance on the Timing belt side of the block to the frame. I already have the top half pulled.
Thanks.http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i226/CBXGuruJim/My3G002r.jpg

i would pull everything out at the same time....and then drop it in at the same time. its not that hard....just pull the axles, clutch cable....and the speed sensor.

Yeah, I guess, after further inspection left front coil spring is broke in 2 places. I might as well pull the front suspension apart also. Guess this will be a full rebuild from the frame up now.
Thanks.

easier to line up clutch to tranny, easier to get everything clean and get mounts set straight,, just easy-er to take out the whole tang

Better to remove the block and tranny together. I don't think you can leave the tranny in there but even if you did it would be a pain to line it up with the block once you drop the block in there.

Thats the plan then. Gonna be a frame up restoration. I will post the progress pics in my other thread.
