It's the end of an era for me... my 3gee is totalled.

Guy didn't see me coming and went through a stop sign. Destroyed the rear passenger door and just about everything near it. Cops assessed the damage at 2500 bucks, the car's value is 400. She's totalled.

But by no means am I done! I am going to look for a hot little 3g hatch and put my goodies in.

No, wprocomp... the JDM tails didn't even get a scratch. Funny, that was the first thing I looked at when I got out.

So guys, if you know of a little 3g hatch in the central VA area that needs a home... please let me know.

hey...i was looking for 1 too and there was one in hampton roads craigslist for like 1000 it was white dx...it was like a week ago....


but there is an Se-i in northern Va for $3000

I'm just fine. it was a light impact as far as accidents go. I was more stirred than shaken, the car spun completely around and stopped on the sidewalk. The rain didn't help that out one bit.

Hate to say it, but it sounds like you upgraded from your old ride. Were any of your parts salvageable from the old car?

Hate to say it, but it sounds like you upgraded from your old ride. Were any of your parts salvageable from the old car?

Everything was salvagable. The parts that do not fit the SEi are in the marketplace.

Got the SE-i.

Well... here's the honest and skinny. I got a good motor and unibody.

The body... well... it WAS the green color, but some schmuck before the last owner gave it a rattle can white paintjob and it looks HORRIBLE. One of the doors has slight damage and one quarter panel is slightly damaged too. There are a few other bits and pieces that need to be changed/fixed. Oh, the leather... forget it.

BUT... It's an SE-i. There's NO rust on the thing. Anywhere. All I need to do is replace the damaged panels, strip it down, give 'er a prime and ride with no shine. Everything else is good. Engine's got 151 on the odometer, tranny is nice and smooth, steering is nice and responsive.

Did I mention it's an SE-i? Yeah, that's why I bought it :)

Look in the marketplace... I am selling my SS brake lines (don't work on discs), my JDM tails (86-87 only) and my EDM ECU (same).

The adjuster's coming out this evening to give the car a good looking over. Hopefully I'll be back on the up and up soon :)

The only thing that's making me mad right now is the insurance co says that I can't touch the car until they are done with the paperwork. That's annoying as hell. I have parts to swap and you bastitches are holding me up! Cut me my check and go away!

Affirmative.

The parts I am selling will go to fund a nice suspension setup... at least the beginnings of it. All the performance parts are coming straight over from the sedan.

I bought a full gasket set from eBay, just so if I need a gasket, I have em all.

The check... we'll see what that does. Let me figure out the body and paint issue a bit better first.

The insurance company called... car is deemed a total loss. They are giving me the value of the car, $1,700.00 plus sales taxes of $51.00. Total amount of the check: $1,751.00. I also get to keep the car.

Well... That pays off the SE-i and my suspension package is in the mail :D

I loved that car, and as much as I hate to say it, it's true... UPGRADE.

My 3G was totalled once. Original estimate was about $2000 to fix..... I spent $1000 in various places to get it straightened back out and repainted. Dumb?

Well..... if I don't sell it, I haven't lost any money. :P

But that's just it.... I haven't sold it, so I haven't 'lost' money. :) I wanted to keep it, forever and ever, so I'll fix anything I can if I can afford it. New engine and transmission? Sure. New brakes? Okay. I'll replace anything that needs to be replaced until I can't find parts anymore, or it rusts out from under me.
