I remember reading a link awhile back to the AC DELCO version of the friction modified version of syncromesh. It is a lot cheaper and the same thing.

Does anyone know where i can buy the AC Delco syncromesh? Dealers are quoting me 12-18$ a quart for the GM FM syncromesh.

yeah, it's expensive. some dealerships will give you a better price, it just depends on the guy at the parts counter. gmpartsdirect.com you can get it cheaper but you have to buy a minimum of 6 bottles i think.

i have been running it in my ls tranny for about a year now. no problems with it. when legend_master and i build his motor that was the tranny fluid we used in his. come to thinking about it we used a 50/50 blend 10w-30 and pennzoil syncromesh.

the pennzoil stuff isnt friction modified, from what i understand. It has a different GM part number.

If anyone hears anything, let me know.

I'm running the Royal synchromax. Its more expensive than the Pennzoil but it works very well.

when i went to go talk to honda they said that the MTF was new and improved for honda transmitions. plus its only like 3 bucks a quart.

Thats true. I use the Syncromesh FM and i would reccomend it. I wouldnt blend it either, just use it straight up. Honda MTF is good but Syncromesh FM is like liquid gold. Either way anything is better than 10w30
