24 Hours of Lemons, Altamont, CA (July 7-8, 2007)

I'm driving the 2gee down to the 24 Hours of Lemons race in Altamont. I guess it's right outside of San Fransisco. I'm planning on arriving on Friday the 6th, and leaving Sunday morning the 8th so I can make it to work Monday. I'm going there to support my friend who is running with a team in a Festiva for the race. (Not driving my car in the race!!!)

Somebody should come to this! It would be badass to have a 3geez meet there and enjoy some racing!

in the prices/rules section it says $40 for a paddock pass and $15 for grandstand only.

didnt lost drive from georgia to florida....like 600 miles each way or round trip.

must be 6oo round trip cause he is only like half hour drive to florida line. Fla is a long state like Californication so it is a serious road trip to any major destnations once you get to the line. Unless it is Jacksonville, St Augustine, Panama City, Tallahassee or Tampa.

I'll bring my camera, but I'm not running in this race. Cars that do are likely to get hit, bumped, pushed, crushed, nuged, etc. Plus, I don't think they'd believe that my car cost $500. :D

it's tempting, isn't it? but i think it might wind up getting expensive, even with almost no money spent on your car. you've got to have at least 4 drivers on your team ($100 entry each, +$50 for a track license if you don't already have some kind of certification), then $500 to enter the car, plus the money you'll spend on a cage, fire suits, tires and brakes etc.

still, just imagining competing in something like this makes me very happy. happy like a little bunny rabbit.

Okay, so I spoke with the Festiva team that is going down, and they said Sunday would be the best day to watch. All the car crushing, awards, party, etc will be going on then. So I will be there Sunday I'm there instead of Saturday. Does this still work for everybody?
