Funny, I get rid of my 87 hatch then go six years or so with no 3G. Now I pick up two hatches within a month, hehe. I have the beat up 206k 87 LXi and now a 162k 86 LXi:

Those flame seat covers / floormats / steering cover have GOT to go hehe. I'll sew the seat until I can find a suitable replacement either at the junkyard or online. Also that ghetto speaker rig job on the doors needs attention. Runs excellent, paintjob is only three years old and it only has one nickel sized spot of rust. I wish I had waited a little longer before buying the first hatch, but ah well. I think I'll fix the alternator and door handle and throw some tires on the grey one then flip it on craigslist or something as I really don't have parking for three cars, let alone four hehe.
I feel alot better though buying parts and modding a MUCH cleaner hatch to start with than the 87, even though I'm partial to grey since that was the color of my first 3G. On the other hand, maybe I'll keep it and restore it and use it to tech my woman how to drive stick. Just gotta sell my truck. Anyone want an 88 K5 Blazer 4x4? :)

PS, I got it for $2,000 in Greensboro, NC. That's my only issue.. the car is 400 miles away. I can have DAS ship it for me for $500 or I can drive my BMW down and have my woman follow in the bimmer and drive the Accord back. It'd run about $180 in fuel. I could fly down and drive it back, that'd be $220. Amtrak would be $180 and Greyhound would be $95.. but take 12 hours just to get there!

At this point I'm thinking I'll fly down. The drive is six hours or so, by plane it's three hours. Seems much more efficient, even if it costs a little more. What's real disappointing is the seller is going out of town for vacation tomorrow morning and won't be back till the 6th. I found a lady in Greensboro who needs a ride to DC, said she'd drive the car up for me for $100 to cover gas/expenses but she has to come up this weekend. Darn it!

Thats a clean paintjob on that car. Nice pickup. I never realized that the hatches with blue interior had two-tone seats like that. That's pretty cool.

Main thing is that it isn't an auto. Nice find, keep us updated.

Thanks. Yea, those flames are, ehh.. interesting. Hehe. Auto was never a possibility, when I was searching as soon as I saw a slushbox I'd hit back and move on, hehe. My daily driver for the last few years has been auto, I'm eager to get back to rowing the gears myself.

Hmmm.. do you also have the rear bench and seatbacks? May look weird with blue/grey up front and lt blue/dk blue in the back heh.

The paint looks good. Original paint?

No, not original. The seller said he had it painted three years ago.

No just the fronts, sorry. I will let them go for $50/pair. I dont want to ship , but if you come up to the meet in AUG you can get them or maybe we can meet halfway. Let me know if this interests you.

nice find man the exterior is awesome for a 3G, usually these cars are dented/rusted to hell.

Man I'm tearing my hair out. I was supposed to pick the car up a week or so ago but the dude apparently has been out of town. Been calling him and calling him all that weekend, no answer. Last night I finally get an answer and it's his wife saying he broke his collarbone and would be home tomorrow (today). Called three times today, no answer. Man this is irritating.

I'm starting to waver.. saw a 92 EX coupe for $1800. Only bummer is auto and tan interior. Also saw a 94 Paseo manual for $2k and a 96 Accord manual coupe for $2k. This guy better get his act together or I'm gonna move to another vehicle. I don't want to though.. that hatch looks very nice. How dare he break his bones!? I have a car to buy!! :)

Yea, someone must've had a hard on for flames hehe.

Well the dude was supposed to call yesterday, and I still haven't heard from him. Man this sucks!! I wanted that hatch so bad. I even bought a console in anticipation hehe. I think I may just switch plans now. I am going to Abingdon, MD in a few hours to look at a 95 Civic DX hatch (http://baltimore.craigslist.org/car/371561258.html) manual with 125k for $1950. Only prob is a noisy clutch bearing. I looked it up on fueleconomy.gov and was amazed, it gets about 29/36 mpg. Pretty decent.

I figure if the hatch guy finally calls me I can throw the Civic on eBay to make the money back to buy the hatch. Shouldn't be too hard, judging from the auctions I see for 95 Civics this seems to be a pretty decent deal so I should be able to get the money back.. hell, prolly make a profit. I have a buddy who can fix the clutch bearing dirt cheap.
