depends on what your needs are? do you have like hd dvd or blu ray yet? also what type of cable you have. widescreen is a good thing because all dvds are widescreen. i would go check out costco....they have good deals...my uncle just picked up a 62 inch for like 2200 i dont see it online but this is what they have online

There are plenty of 4:3 DVDs out there actually. As far as bluray or HD-DVD, the res specs are the same so it's really irrelevant. Personally, I'd get the TV. In the long run you'll eventually get bored of the car / get rid of it probably in a few years, but the TV will always be useful.

TV market is pretty good, I'm constantly suprised at how cheap 1080p is nowadays. I remember it wasn't that long ago I was drooling at Sony's Qualia-004 1080p projector for $30k.. now you can get 1080p pj for a little over $3k, and regular non-pj TVs even cheaper. Makes me wanna upgrade from my older 720p unit, heh.

Turbo will make you fast.
TV will make you fat.

Unless you're gonna make the TV a media center and hook a PC up to it... Or an X-Box 360 or a PS3... Forza 2 goodness, or GTHD, or even a PS2 with GT4... Or an xbox with xbmc. *drools* okay, get the TV!!! :D

I dont know man I love my 57" sony projection tv but.......plasma and lcd look alot sharper when viewed in high definition. Next tv Im going to get is probably gonna be a hd lcd. I say if your going to buy a nice tv dont get a projection(even thought thats what I have) and go lcd. much sharper image than any projection tv.

Heres what mine is

I dont know man if you dont want to stay inside enjoying your tv go for it if not go for the turbo. you'll enjoy everytimr you drive.

Oh by the way.... I have like 600 channels and 45 give or take hd channels and THERE IS NEVER ANYTHING GOOD ON TV!

Oh and I remember reading somewhere that hd dvd might win since a couple of big internet video rental places were going to use them and not the blueray. Toshibas been pushing their hd dvd players alot also.

Definately buy SAMSUNG DLP. They have a 15pin D-Sub VGA input so you can use it as a computer monitor. Picture this: Wireless keyboard & mouse, internet surfing & PC gaming all on your couch. The quality is sharp, and you don't have to worry about the gas escaping (plasma) or pixels dieing (LCD); neither of which is worth repairing once this happens. All you do with DLP is replace the bulb. Some people complain of a rainbow effect with DLP, but I never have seen it and I have perfect vision. That and the newer TV's are overcoming this issue for the rare few who ever even notice it.

Buy SAMSUNG. I did! I have a 50" DLP 720p HDTV by SAMSUNG and it ROCKS!

I bought my SAMSUNG back in November '06 for $1,499 with a free $199 TV stand and a $100.00 DVD-R recorder.

In Cali you can't have a turbo. If he gets pulled over, and the cop sees the turbo, say good bye to the motor and possibly the car.

This is what I use. An infocus X2. Its was about $600.00 (you can buy much better ones for like 700 now). The cheapest projectors can play 1080i, like mine, I play Forza2, ghost recon, etc in 1080i with about an 80" picture on my wall. just the wall, no screen, and it looks awesome. And Even the cheaper dvd players will run 720p. which also looks great in 80". the manual says i can get the picture up to 9feet before the it starts to degrade. Couple that with a surround setup and you're good to go.

x2. I used to have an X1, loved it. Very nice unit for a low price. I was actually going to get an X2 myself, but then I saw they dumped the Faroudja processing and put it only on the ScreenPlay line.

I had one of the most friggin ghetto setups for my X1:

http://www.nischan.com/pics/images/main/pj/im002991.jpg

I have a Sanyo Z4 now, old 720p LCD, and I love it. Only thing that sucks is light control. Gotta pick a room that you can darken up during the day if you want to use it when it isn't dark out. It's tolerable with some light on the screen, but sunlight kills it quick. If you get a good high gain screen you can get away with more ambient light.

The current PJ is installed a little better:

agreed. i picked up a Hitachi CP-S225 used for $600. its a mobile mulitimedia LCD projector, weighs about 10 pounds, and projects up to a 300" diagonal (25 foot). it has a short throw lens, which means its good for small areas. the diagonal is almost purportinate to how far away from the screen you have the lens. right now i have it set up in my room with surround sound, the screen is 6' high by 8' wide (10' diagonal), and my room is only 10'x12'. it will hook up to vcr, dvd, any game system, laptop and desk top computers, and if you go through a vcr you can watch tv on it. and the coolest thing about it is you can take it anywhere (in yer 3gee) and set it up in minutes. try doing that with a big screen tv. it has a remote, numerous settings and features, it will switch from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratios, and has a setting for not so dark rooms. plus you would still have a good chunck of change set aside for your turbo.

here is logic being used as a tool to make a decision:
*you already have a pretty fast car considering the mods you have, even with the turbo you will obviousley want more more more
*you got pulled over already in the past year and cops checked your hood
*you stand at risk of losing your investment even more now till things cool off
*you can get a projector and have your own drive-in movies anywhere!!
*you can get a power inverter to operate your microwave to make popcorn, nachos, warm KY oil... etc
*you can watch how to's, vanishing point movie, log on to 3geez.com and have it on the garage wall (ceiling) while you work on the turbo!
*you can buy electronics for zero down and no payments till next year (not recommended really)
*you can play zelda (on the ceiling) while you wait for glue to dry, beer to cool, penetrating oil to soak, or taking a break from a PITA fastener.
