is there a reason we would do this on the 5th and not the 4th? i only ask cause if people have long drives back home, with work monday morning, it might be easier to make it back to work if we do the meet on saturday the 4th. but i will make sure i am free either day.

depending on the amount of people coming will make a difference on the level of success at my house. if there is like 10-12 people it will probably be fine there, but any more than that I can see parking being interesting. I will talk to my neighbors and see what I can come up with for parking.

but if its gonna be 20+ people i think we would have a better time at a portland park bbq or something.

Yeah we have a date... but did we decide on a place to meet in Portland? Anybody have any ideas? Maybe a good spot do BBQ in a park or something? I say if we do a OMGBBQ we get cookin around 3. I'd say that means show up with food around 1:00 so we can BS and get organized before hand.

Okay, it sounds like it's going to cost about $29.50, plus maybe some other fees to get the pic-a-nic spot reserved. I called the Portland Parks phone number and I guess everybody was busy so I left a message. I am going to ask whether or not we can BBQ there. The parking area looks to be a little ways away from the picnic sites, but I'm going to try and get site F if possible. It's the closest to the parking area. It's hard to tell the scale of the map, but I think we should be good to go this way...

There are some smaller sites that cost a few bucks less, but they're further from parking, and have one less table. I think this looks like a good spot though. Maybe I'll drive down and scope out the park.

Site F has 8 tables. Way overkill, but better than not enough. It's available now to reserve.

Someone should bring soda or some kind of beverages, and we could use a few bags of chips... maybe potato salad or macaroni salad. Some other meat and snacks would be excellent too. Maybe some Dogs or Brauts. And we need condiments too: mayo mustard, catchup, relish, hot sauce, etc. Forks and plates and paper towels would be great.

That large parking lot is the port lol. look a bit north of that and you will see like 50 parking spots, which I believe is the KPP parking.

But yeah put me down for bringing the ZOMGBBQ and charcoal, tools, lighter etc...

As long as we have 25 burgers and somebody brings a bunch of hot dogs/buns we will be golden on main course food.

There is a safeway a few miles from this location, so if people just want to pick up food at the store instead of packing it in their cars and having it get all nasty, that is a good plan. We can send people out to get condiments etc as we start to warm up the coals. :)

I can't find the safeway address on hayden island, but its right off I5 and is probably less than 10 minutes way. :)

Okay, so I reserved a spot. Someone $%#@$^@%^ got site F between noon yesterday and just now. So we can't have that one. Looks like we're going to have Site A instead.

So the park rules regarding beer are this: Everybody has to bring their own. Nobody can bring beer and serve it out apparently. So I recommend those who wish to have beer (myself included) stop at the store and bring a couple varieties of six pack, and we can trade or split it up before we arrive, or all put our own beer in the same cooler. :tongue: And of course, beer and wine only. There will be signs up that say "Area reserved for 3geez party" :D

hey do any of you guys need some 13" steelies that have tires that may or may not be in decent condition? (1 set has drivable toyo 800 ultras, the other set has almost bald/bald mix and match tires)

I have at least 2 sets of 13's that i would love to get rid of (free of course) if anybody needs them. As long as I can find lug nuts to get my other 14" wheels on there I will be able to give up all my 13's and get some more space in my storage area.

also think i might have a pair of brand new ish 13" snow tires without wheels that won't be any good to me when i I don't own 13" wheels.

If there are any takers I will bring a pickup truck and some wheels. :)

I was think'n that these meets were a little more than a BBQ; none the less it still sounds fun. Dang it; I wanted to put my car on a track and see how fast it goes. I know they put 130MPH on there for a reason. lol.

bring some cash for PIR late night drags, if anybody from the meet wants to go race I will certainly come to watch them... I'm not going to race my WRX though, or the truck if I end up loading it up with wheels and bringing IT. :)

Zeph does plenty of track days in his accord normally, but he's not going to make it to this meet. :( though he mentioned possibly letting me bring his car so people could check out the quad carbed 282 cammed madness. (not sure if he will be able to let us borrow his car or not, he might need it)

I have two 13" steelies in my garage, I'll take 'em off your hands so I have four. So if someone from Salem want's to bring'em back for me after the meet I'll take 'em; plus $10 for gas to who ever brings 'em back to me.

I'm always using my 17's as curb feelers, maybe I should buy some bumper poles, or put steelies on until I learn where the curb is, lol.

unless you have subs you can easily bring 2 13's in your trunk. or backseat. i will bring them in garbage bags so they won't be dirty. thats 2 down and at least 6 to go (i think)

I'm not too worried about the money... It's only $30. The Parks and Rec people never even sent me the sign I'm supposed to put up at the site to hold the reservation either... WTF!
