Just out of curiosity, my brother and I decided to switch wheels to see how they would look and drive. He drives an '03 Civic Si which has the same lug pattern as our cars, so it was pretty simple.

His tires are 215/40/18's, and mine are 205/40/17's, so his wheels on my car filled in the gap quite well. Well enough that it rubbed in the back! I drove down the street and immediately turned around, as I didn't want to ruin his tires. He, on the other hand, went on a 10 minute drive and said it rode smoother. Anyways, here's the pictures.

What I learned from this whole experience:
Bronze is UGLY matched with Laurel Blue
18's are entirely too big for 3g's.
215/40/18 is too big to fit.
8 tire changes in 30 minutes CAN be done. (with a manual jack)

I like the style of rims. Too bad there 18's,
But I like your rims better on your 3G.

I'm surprised that many of you like it. I guess you'd have to see it in real life. My car is lowered 1.5", but the problem was with the rubbing on the fenders. It actually rubbed on the upper control arm. I guess the offset is too high for the Accord.

A18, your right, those wheels look meaty on my car. I do like that look. Maybe if the color was different then I wouldn't mind it. I just don't see how the bronze matches anything on the car. The first thing my mom said when she saw it was "Yuck".

the color looks fine in the pics but maybe the color looks different in real life.. gunmetal instead of bronze would be good

Must be extremely high offset if it rubbed. I fitted some 17s with 215/45/17 tyres, which ends up being nearly identical in size to those 18s and it didn't rub. The offset on my wheels is 45.

Looks really god with the 18's. Did you have to take the bodykit off to jack the car up? I'm asking because I know I will have to take the sideskirts off mine at least to jack it up.

I think it kinda looks like one of those hotwheels tuner cars. I dont really like the style, size, or color of the rims with your car. Actually the other rims you have look perfect on your car IMO.

yea the bronze does not go with you car at ALL.

but if the rims were silver that would look nice, better than the 17's i think.
only because you got the body kit, non-kitted 3gees dont match 18's.

but nice cars for sure, both of them.

It may be because of the offset, which I don't know what the offset is on those wheels. It also may be because the car is lowered. I'm sure it wouldn't have rubbed if the car was not lowered because it barely rubbed then. I'd be willing to be that your car was not lowered when you tested those wheels.

Thanks man. I actually don't have to take the kit off to jack the car up, but I come within millimeters of having to do it. The jack BARELY fits under the car. Your car looks lower than mine so you'll probably have to take off your skirts, like you said.

Thanks everybody for the comments, even though I wasn't expecting that many!

I like those wheels. I did have 18's on my car when I first got it though, and do agree 18's don't belong on a 3gee. I don't know what braking system you're running, but going down a mountain Stock or close to stock brakes + 18's = fried and burning brakes. XD

I always wanted to put 18's on mine but never seen it until now. I think it looks really good with the body kit that you have on there. I really like the side skirts that you have and the rears, just wondering what kit is that and where you can find them......they sexy!! :D

That looks awesome... 18s look great on your car... I think they suit it so well, and i'm usually not a big fan of huge wheels.

Yeah I do, I have to admit! But the kit is made by Xenon, and you can find it online on any online store that sells Xenon body kits. I got mine from impactparts.com. The 18's are the bronze rims shown on MY 3g, and the 17's are the gunmetal rims that are shown on my brother's Civic Si.

Those 18's would probably hurt the car in all performance aspects, and I personally don't like how big they are, so I won't be getting 18's any time soon. I most likely will downsize next time to 15's or 16's, or get my other pair of rims that I have sitting in the garage fixed and put those on there.

Its urethane, so like a really flexible plastic. I think it has some rubber properties mixed in. But I think regular paint will work. I'd ask around or find a body shop and ask. But my paint is the regular paint and its doing fine after 2 plus years on the front and back and almost a year on the side skirts.
