 I've got an '88 carbed engine. I was wondering if it would do any good to put a breather filter comming off my valve cover. It would replace the line going from the valve cover to the air box. I've seen this done on injected engines, but I want to know if it would to any good to do this. I would have to add another breather filter on the air box too. Would this do anything good/bad? Pictures are welcome.

ive heard it isnt good to do. the only reason i have one is because i have a custom intake and need to filter the air going into the valve cover somehow.

there isnt anything wrong with having one, it just lets the valvecover have more ventalation.

I put a K&N breather filter on my valve cover and it seems to cool the valve cover a lot faster, so I'm assuming that it's better. I did notice a rpm increase when I put it on.

I don't have access to a digital camera but I do have a scanner/printer/copier, so I will take pictures and a develope them and post them. How do you post them on here? I'm still kinda new here.

I always thought that the stock pcv filter allowed the vacuum created by the intake to seal the valve cover better, while preventing the build up of pressure.
Anyway I have some pics of the filter on the valve cover on my site.

i don't think there is much vacuum while you have a pcv filter before the air box ! ( just a thougth !? )

I know the PVC Pipe when connected to the stock air cleaner system put alot of oil into the air cleaner system, the C pipe has oil all over and the air filter (On the bottom) was allways soaked in it.
