she has almost 265,000mi and a blown front seal, not sure if its cam or crank yet, so a complete rebuild will be done. probably go weber/header/exhaust as well. other than that and the wheels, honestly i like her the way she is. and ive gotta get that stupid dent out of the rear passenger door. its from a football, my friend cant catch....

front leak could be oil pump, it is behind the timing cover and drives off the timing belt. It installs much like a water pump, as it is not inside the oil pan like most engines.

is that a fix that can be done without removing the engine? if so, ill get right on it! my driveway looks like the exxon valdes parks there.....

Yes, you DO NOT have to remove the engine. To my knowledge you need to remove the crank pulley, and timing belt cover. While you are there might as well replace the water pump, and timing belt.

Anyways welcome.

yep, complete engine rebuild. i am extremely lucky to have a near immaculate interior. when i bought the car, there was so much trash and dirt in it, i thought for sure the carpet was ruined. but after a good cleaning it all looks brand new. not even 1 cigarette burn anywhere.

ive tried to pop the dent out from inside the door, but my hands are too big to fit in the access holes. its not creased, so it should just pop right out. im just not really all that worried about it right now

and yeah the rear tires are 10mm smaller (im shocked anyone picked up on that). one of my tires belts broke, and it put the tire out of round. so instead of buying new tires, i just stole 2 wheels off my CRX. the tires on it are pretty much brand new.

anything leaking oil on the engine can be fixed without removing it. only time you would have to remove it,is if you were doing bottom end work, such as the crank.

well its getting an entire rebuild, bottom end and all. and i realize anything can be fixed with enough time and patience without removal, but its all a matter of difficulty. is it worth the trouble to dismantle the front of the engine when im gonna pull it eventually. i have rather large hands and some things are more difficult to get at for me than they should be.
