Hi guys,
I am new here and been reading forums for last few days. I have recently bought an 86 accord with A16A1 engine (carb). It has 5 speed manual transmission.
I have downloaded the shop manual from http://www.pauldesign.ru/honda/shopmanual.html, Thanks Paul.
I am looking to identify different components of the vacuum and emission system of this engine. Here is a diagram from shop manual, which I tried to label. Please correct me where I am wrong.

The part labelled as Check Valve C is missing from my car. Could someone tell, what is the function of this valve and from where could I get it online? Car is running but with idle surge problems.
Thanks

Looks to me like a vacuum check valve. It keeps vacuum flowing in one direction, and keeps it from escaping or de-vacuuming. You should be able to pick one up at any auto parts store I would think...

Thanks. Could a missing check valve cause idle surge?

Is my labelling of parts correct?

Yeah, the missing valve could definitely cause that. As for your labeling, I can't say. I thought that was scanned in or something. Gotta love that nice, simple vacuum system!
