i knew that would get you'r attention!

i was at a buddy's house the other night he has a boosted 2000 civic.

i know you want me to get to the point right.

well it so happens he has a 2000 civic rollcage just sitting around.

i ask how much he paid for it and he said around $380......

i say hmmmm????

ooh get to the point. sorry !

well i took some measurements, drank a beer.

then i got an ungodly itch on my ass (you know one of those ones that you have to find a screwdriver or somthing to itch it)

ooh sorry!

i then walked over to the 89ta to check and see if it would fit and mutch to my shagrin the fother mucker fits within 3/8 inch on each side.

the rest of the kit is cut to fit. this was measured on my 4door though.

there shouldent be too much of a differance between the hatch or 2 door coupe.

i tried my best to make it as comical as possible, i hope you enjoy.

yup!
any 92-94 civic roll bar kit from the main hoop back. 4 point or 6 point. not sure on the 8 point though.

I'd say most of the integra /civic cages are about the same if there weld in. It be a pia to get it welded in there but its really good piece of mind. After my second roller over in my scout I did one and never looked back.

I think all cars should come with some kinda roll protection that and 5 pt harnesses. It just make sense.

Lets us no which one you get. I only really looked into Autopower? and didnt find out much at all. I would be interested in tubing diameter and type.

Nice find, I wouldn't mind having a cage, mainly just to strengthen the body.

I know it dosnt seem like it, but any small car cage will fit. When I put the cage in my car I just orded it for a size of car, not a make/model of car. Some cars it will fit tighter in places, some cars will be off in places. Most of them go for about 250.00-400.00 dollars.
If your going to have somebody else weld it in anyway they will be able to cut a little here and renotch a little there if it needs it.

i think the nhra rule for cages is 11.90 and faster with an aftermarket turbo, so at this point i need to spend money in other places.

another new rule on cars with aftermarket turbo's is as soon as you dip into 13's you have to have a fire proof jacket and helmet.(another $400-$500)

don't get me wrong it is on the to do list and 10's can be had with 400hp...

when it comes time to do the cage i will do a how to.

i'll call my friend tonight and get some more info on the kit he has.

That is good to know. I was planning on making the Civic EX I had into a dirt track car until Wildshovelbill06 barrel rolled his 3gen Accord hatch over the wall. Even with a roll cage the car waffled and I just got my back where I can do things again so I was not motivated to build the dirt car this year. Maybe next year, but the EX is gone to the scap yard now. I think I would get an Accord or Celica anyway, more metal. The floor pans on the Civic and 3rd gen are almost identical btw..
Also Wildbillshovel is dominating the track this year with 2nd gen prelude with A20, automatic... 14 wins in a row!!

also do a search for S&W race cars. they offered to spec out a cage for free if someone drives a car to their shop. cost was reasonable, and they will make it from chromoly if you want to pay more. :) but this is good news too!

i didn't want to thread jack you so i felt i should begain a new thread. The civic kit seems to fit well and seems to be nice and tight with all the plastic.
