maybe I am mistaken, but I vaguely remember a vid that Brian or you posted up when you two met. You did a couple highway flybys and it was pretty cool. Brian had a black coupe and that kind of got me to do stuff to mine, but I remember once he joined the civic EG bandwagon he really starting hating on the 3g.

I joined 3geez back in the EZ board days when I was 14/15 years old when the car was still my dads. hahah... then slacked off for a while and didnt join up until the join date you see on this account... but yeah i remember the good old days with pearldrop and nate and mike and when justin actually had his accord up!

so overall i think I have been a member for 8-9 years. :)

mikes turbob20

would be nice to be able to go back n look through the old posts on ezboard. I actually searched on AF and while my user id shows up with a post count of over 100 none of them show up when you search. well unless it was in another section that wasnt 3geez. brings back the whole egor (or whatever is name was) issues

I think the first forum started in 99 right? I think I found it a couple of months after it started with only like 100 members or so.

I kept complainng to Brian about me getting tons of e-mails all about my car---usually the same turbo questions, after a while of listening to my crap, Brian suggested we start a message board for 3rd gen honda accords, so we did and he came up with the name "3Geez" which reminds me, I should call him to see if he is even still alive...

88turboaccord
08-29-2007, 08:33 AM
I remember so of the older stuff. Have not been around all to much on this site anymore.. But I do check in from time to time. I see a lot more parts are out there for these cars now. I remember all the trial and error stuff I had to do, plus a bunch of custom stuff that had to be done. That was one reason I got rid of the car-- I would all ways have to have a part made that I needed, had to do all the engineering of it, it just took up too much time---I have my own business that needs to be run, let alone trying to make car parts..

guaynabo89

Damn i feel old i recall being on the original forum when i was in high school. Im actually glad i stuck it out and never let go of my accord even though im no where near done. And i still have some of your old parts Justin like the charge pipes, rear strut bar, and im sure a few other things. I know where your coming from iv spent a lot turboing my B20A but in a way i like it cause its different. I went to a Honda-Tech event in 2005 when it had the turbo B20A in it and i got some attention because it was different. I hate going to shows and seeing hundreds of Civics and RSX's its boring to me when its hard to set yourself apart from other cars and thats where the old school honda's come in.

Anyone know what happened to paulie? I know when he came home from war he sold his accord because i was temped to buy it.

guaynabo89
09-07-2007, 01:44 PM
Who was it that made that insert for the dash where the shelf is? Was it Paulie? I think it said 3geez on it or somethign like that. It was like a black cloth piece.

RobT5580
09-07-2007, 01:49 PM
I think it was paulie that did that he was pretty creative with that stuff. Man are we old LOL Justin was the one to get me into turbos now to bad i didnt do an A20 cause im pretty sure i would have a nice running one right now and perhaps the body work done to my car with the money i spent doing the B20A.

guaynabo89
09-07-2007, 01:51 PM
lol @ what ifs

Like I shoulds bought a swap kit for the b series and would had a boosted c5 now! lol

RobT5580
09-07-2007, 03:20 PM
I always do that but overall i still have 90% of my turbo parts for the re-build so i will get it right one of these days. Definately more potential in a newer b but i still like the originality of the old school stuff. Your A-series is looking good and will draw some attention. And the cast iron block is a beast as i witnessed JonnyO's race car at the track running real strong.

guaynabo89
09-07-2007, 03:30 PM
yeah the old stuff gets attention.

I happened to make it to the dyno about 8 months ago before checking my compression and pulled 143whp. Even though it didnt make that much it got everyone excited. The old hatch sounded soooooo nice on the dyno that everybody there had smiles and was asking what was done and how nice it sounded on the dyno.

on a side note after the disappointment I did something that I should have done before hand which was check the compression. Well found out 2 of the cylinders had real low compression (in the 90's) because of deposits on the valves n seats that werent letting them close fully. :( Unfortunately I wont be able to figure out how much whp I could have made n/a.

RobT5580
09-07-2007, 08:16 PM
Hey it got you to upgrade LOL i miss the sound of my boosted accord it was very deep. I tried to keep it on the down low but the spooling and the bov gave it away cause it was pretty loud. My legacy is so quite you can't even tell its a turbo by the sound but in a way its nice to have a nice daily driver.

I can't wait to see your next dyno run!

88turboaccord
09-13-2007, 08:37 AM
Hehe, the last car I just finished up on did over 500AWH on the dyno... More details to come later...

RobT5580
09-13-2007, 09:11 AM
I was tempted to do stuff to my legacy but after 2 recent wreckless driving tickets im gonna lay low for awhile plus i want to work on the honda before i get into something else. I like the S4's but i worked for Audi/Porsche for a bit and parts are not cheap and i had a leg up to what i would have gotten into. But hands down the ride quality of a stock audi is incredible and they seem to have good style when it comes to dressing a car up.
