Oh damn, that must have made some noise. I hear of a lot of people throwing the transmission into reverse instead of 6TH. There is suppose to be a lockout, but the k series dont have one :dunno: .

No I didnt throw it into reverse.. I thought it was a halfshaft because it started clicking like one, then it got louder and then just sounded like metal tearing apart.

dude what exactly wore down there maybe if you know what exactly broke you might know what gear it was. Thank god for warranties cause that would have been a pretty penny.

The final drive came apart and broke the adjacent gear.

tell them the car has never been abused or raced, never missed a gear, never warmed the tires up to make it stick to launch a holeshot, never once ground on reverse.. tell them tell them...:bowrofl:
it just broke-ded all for no reason

just messing with ya... hope they put it all back together right including fasteners around the tranny that have to be moved.

if it has tits or wheels it is eventually going to give trouble

damn, it'd be cheaper buying a mildly used tranny for sure. you could get a whole second engine with that money...

man the car drives so much nicer now with a new tranny.. I think it had been going for ahwhile because now it accelerates quicker, is more responsive and just feels more crisp.. Also my third gear is not as notchy and goes right in!
