as i said, just a thought i had since i am soon planning to put a new carb on. i had an idea after seeing an adapter for a tubular intake for the weber carbs. putting a supercharger on would probably not be worth it if its not going to be raced consistantly and have a built bottom end, machined head and valve train upgrades. but lets say i have built the engine to take high compression the supercharger produces and what not. building brakets to mount a pro charger wouldnt be the hardest part either. the thing to think about is mating the system up with a carb that will be able to deliver the right amount of fuel. i was thinking a weber 38 dges with the correct jetting. this would be a blow through setup instead of a suck through. this being in an attempt to build a forced induction engine without much technology of computer programing that fuel injection takes plus sensors that would need to be adapted for a reliable engine. as we have seen many turbo projects turn from pipe dreams to reality by a few members here. by far, a supercharger project wouldnt be impossible. maybe it could prove to be even cheaper than building a turbo setup.

You have to do blow through with a SC like that or else it would ignite the fuel inside the housing and explode :)

Remember to reverse the powervalve, so that it activates on pressure rather than vacuum.

Make sure the floats inside the fuel bowl are brass or some metal because plastic ones could break under pressure.

ive been thinking the same thing but with a fi setup i think u could easily make an adapter to bolt a sc onto the ac bracket then u wont really have to worry about pulley locations

If anybody was going to supercharge and a20, I beleive the best bet would be to go with a b16 Supercharger. Simlar to the setup in the picture below. I think that would require that you upgrade to FI though.

i was looking at the same thing...from jackson racing it can be pulled off.

people have said that it will hit the brake booster and/or the drivers side strut mount


i personally think it could be done with some fab skills

I dont think we could say either way until it has been test fitted. If I had an a20 powered car, i could get my hands on a Jackson racing SC from my friends to see the approximate fitting.

the thing is, i didnt want to even think about going fi. but utilize a carburetor setup.

I think there pretty big physically and I wonder how much they flow. I think its a great idea.

I wonder if they make ones for smaller displacement motors then dom. V-8's

they make them for the S2000, but they are still fairly large

what about a vortech supercharger? they make them for civics and they are the same thing.

and more like a turbo so u dont have to change the intyake out and can most likly be easly swaped onto a ac braket and then all u need is a belt not much more fab work to be done

Vortech and procharger both use pullies, I'd say go with procharger, but you may have to cut things here and there to install it.

Vortech comes with a shaft so you can relocate it to an open area in the engine.

You have to consider which way the crank rotates and which way the pulley needs to rotate for either setup.

those are some dimensions, make something out of cardboard the same size and see if it will fit.

You'll probably use a C-1 procharger, since those are for low starting HP motors. It would be interesting if it would work because we don't even reach the 150-325 range.
