removing the ac belt shouldn't change much, but if i remove the power steering belt, will the power steering fluid in the rack n pinion system cause very hard steering? should i drain the power steering fluid if i don't plan on using it, to ease turning?

(setting the car up for a turbo build)

maybe i don't need to remove the power steering?

i don't use the AC, there's something in the freon that makes me sneeze like a mofo.... but power steering would be cool to keep if it will fit with a turbo setup...

I have done this on my car and the steering is not that bad for me as far as turning effort goes. You shouldn't smell any refrigerant fron your A/C. You probably have some type of mold growing on your evap coil. Chryslers are bad for this. Chrysler has a TSB for it and makes a cleaner for that type of problem(musty smell). My air didn't work and my rack has a bad leak, so I cut the belts and I picked up about 2-3 miles per gallon.

If you have a coolant smell coming through your vents, then its probably the heater core.
