I've been looking around for cheapish seats on ebay for a little while now, and I found these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140154658125&rd=1

Does anyone know how comfy these seats are? I don't care if they're super super soft, but I don't want my ass falling asleep after a half hour of driving.

let me put it this way dude. on ebay, you get what you pay for. i wouldnt buy a no name brand unless you get to sit in them and test them out. other than that, id say either get stock from another car (such as 2g and 3g preludes, 2g teg, and others fit with minor mods) or drop the big bucks on recaro, bride, sparco, corbeau etc. This is another question that gets answered alot, but no biggie. Welcome to the site!

thanks man. I really want to get that style of seat, so I guess I'll just save up for some recaros or something like that. I agree that sitting in them before buying them is the best idea. that's why I asked the question, because I can't actually sit in them. Anyway thanks for the quick answer.

no problem man. Best bet is corbeau tho honestly. They even have sliders for our cars, plus they look better and have better prices.

thanks for that. I don't want to spend over a thousand to get sparco torninos no matter how much I like them. I was thinking like 300-400 price range

i wonder if you could use the corbeau brackets to mount recaros and bride seats. since corbeau makes brackets for the 3rd gen.

im pretty sure someone has used the corbeau brackets on recaros before... brides im not so sure about, but i think most aftermarket seats follow about the same brackets. If not a simple bracket can be made.

You know, the 2nd Gen Accord hatch has some pretty well-bolstered seats. I was really impressed. And your ass will not get sore in them. The 2nd Gen sedan seats aren't nearly as sporty, but are quite comfy. You can always find a 2geez on Craigslist being parted out with a nice interior. I scored a set of like-new seats for about $30. Plus they come in a variety of colors. You can get black, red, blue, and grey! :)

i like the 3rd gen lude seats they are really nice. they hold you better than stock...but i still want some aftermarket seats but the real deal ones cost like 300-350 bucks used.

well those ebay ones look pretty nice actually, but i would bet they are stiff as a board. i couldnt tell you if they are or not. never see those but they do have a handsome style to them. and yeah, i would have to recommend some 2nd or 3rd gen prelude seats. i have them in my 3gee and they are very comfortable. my drive seat has lumbar and side bolster adjustments that make them more comfortable than the accord seats. i would say they would be great for long travel also. they are supportive but still pretty soft.

lxi seats have lumbar support :) lxi seats are 100% better than dx/lx seats.. in my lx i would get uncomfortable after like 30 mins of driving.. in my lxi i can drive for hours :D armrest helps too

it also depends on the suspension. i did 260 miles in one day...and i still went to work from like 7-12. my suspension is in the middle but its mostly stiff. yeah yeah the armrest helps alot.

i have been thinking about getting a corbeau seat, that particular one even, for a long time

but i just bought an ST rear sway bar and an alpine head unit.... for an equivalent amount of money

Corbeaus are not said to wear all that well. Bobafett has a pair and I honestly don't like them (but that's just me).

I have a Sparco Evo2 (that also doesn't wear that well) but I find it to be pretty darned comfortable. Used deals can usually be found.

yeah. I think I'm gonna see if I can find something nice on Ebay for a good deal. I don't really need to buy brackets for the seats since my dad knows how to weld and is willing to teach me, and help to weld them. if I only had the money. I just saw a set of sparco torinos with harnesses go for 500 plus 150 in shipping on ebay.

Oh yeah. What is everyones problem with the DX seats. I don't mind the ones in my car, and they're destroyed to hell. are the ones in the lxi really that much better?

The lxi ones are much better, i'll let you sit in my car when you come over again.

Ones to stay away from are:

1. no name ebay ones
2. apc
3. 3a racing
4. matrix

When I went shopping for seats (reclinable sport seats) I sat in almost all the brands. Sparco, momo, and Reccaros where the top 3 I liked as far as quality, comfort, and materials. Corbeau, D.A.D, and a cople others (cant remember brands right now) were in the middle of the scale.

I wound up purchasing a set of D.A.D seats. Best quality for the price and were a little stiffer and wider than the corbeau a4's. and since I had them reupholstered in burgandy leather with cream suede inserts it made sense to buy them instead of sparco torinos and then still have to pay to get them reupholstered.

Ive driven on them for 4-6 hours straight and feel better than the stock ones afterwards. lol

Damn it I need to get off my a$$ and take some good pictures. Here is one and you can kinda see what they look like.

cuz you got leather.

the lx-i has better and stonger materials. like i said it depends also on the suspension and roads.

how much was the upholstery job Dennis? Im curious, im seriously thinking about getting my SE-i seats reupholstered with better bolstering.

guaynabo89

depends on the job and material.

I think I paid almost 2 grand for everything. All seats, door panel inserts, suede headliner and rug with carpets. Also little things like the shift and ebrake boots and armrest. I did some of the work cause I brought the parts too them already removed from the car. If they would have done the disassembly it would have been more.

If you just wanted to say the seats I would expect it to be about 600+ since yours are all leather. You never know though. Look around and see what ur local guys offer. Try n stay away for the places owned bydrug dealers that just need a front for the IRS. lol
