Well, I wanted to you guys to see what I got to replace my Accord. Now that I'm married and what not, I needed something a little more family oriented. I also needed something that gets better gas mileage than my SUV. Needless to say, this was a great purchase and I'm in love all over again. So without further adieu, here it is.

2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro

The turbo is awesome. It has a diverter valve instead of a blowoff valve so it's quiet between shifts but you can sure here it spool up. And you can't beat all wheel drive.

sweet, not a bad car at all. like zackie said, turbo + awd + mt is a wonderful drug. :) any plans for it beyond dd/family ride duty?

Yes, it's a 5 valve. Same engine at the Mk IV GTI just turned longways. I have to get a pic of it. I'm not sure if I want to mod it yet or keep it stock. I might chip it and get an exhaust and then be done. Thanks for the compliments guys.

yeah id just chip it, there is just soo fast you can go in that car without upgrading the pea shooter turbo. Nice car though. What ever happend to your b16 coupe?

Get's better mileage than your SUV, eh? Turbo + AWD may tell another story... Hehe... Especially if you love the feel of that turbo tossing you back in the seat. ;)

Very nice car though! I must admit, I'm totally jealous. That interior looks scrumptious. Once of my favorite cars of all time! I love the wagon variant!

My SUV was getting me about 16.5 mpg. So far in the car, I'm getting around 26. I have to use 91 octane or better in it but I'm still saving myself money with this. It costs about $40 to fill this up with 93 where the SUV was over $50 and sometimes hit $60 with 87.

I was interested in the wagon version for a while mainly because of the cargo carrying capacity but finally decided I liked the lines of the sedan better. My wife needs a new car too and she likes the Mazda 3 so if we get that, we'll get her a 5 door so we can haul smaller items around if need be.

yeah, my friend had an a4 with the 1.8t and he got discouraged after a turbo pt cruiser beat him. although i think he had automatic. but what's the fun in upgrading a turbo car if you don't upgrade the turbo?

upgrading the turbo will probably involve getting a bigger intercooler, piping, turbo manifold and exhaust system at the very least, thats BIG BUX

oh yes, i'm well aware of the cost of upgrading a turbo'd car since i own one and have yet to upgrade it because of that very reason.

I bet you love that car over your suv. I like my legacy as a daily driver but the gas is not the best especially if you have a heavy right foot.

That is one beautiful car. Look at that interior. I love late 90's and newer VW's/Audi's, i just feel like they make some of the best interiors on the market.
