Died, then won't start! help!

Alright, i was driving through a parking lot, and i realized my RPMs were at 0, i thought OH shit not good, so then i stopped my car and tried to restart it, but when it was trying to start it just made a higher pitched starting noise, it sounded like the starting was working, but the engine wasnt turning, so i had to tow the mother (thank god for insurance) and now im trying to figure out how to diagnose the problem, i check all the spark plugs there in there good, other than that I need major help please, help me, i really wont wanna walk to school tomorrow!!!!

i'd guess a timing belt

alright i popped off my timing cover, and i noticed about 2 or 3 teeth missing, so my guess is that is the problem, luckily i was barely moving when it happened, so since there are teeth gone, isn't that most likely whats up???

if the belt just chewed some teeth, then the cam is most likely just alittle out of time, not enough to cause damage, but enough to keep it from running. In any event, looks like you'll be walking to school tomorrow, :(

Yes timing belt confirmed! Hoefully no bent valves.

I dont think the valves would be bustted since the belt didn't break and ontop of the, there is minimal teeth breakage

check ur ignition coil too when u do ur timing belt.

well its back from the shop with a spiffy new timing belt, i guess your supose to change em every 60,000 but i waitin til 115,000 saved a few hundey, thanks for your help guys

I didnt intentionally wait this long to have my timin belt done, i wasnt the first owner, and thought they had it done, but i got lucky muahaha
