I have owned this accord for 11 years now. Ive decided after a long relaxing week off of work its finally time to let it go. In the last 6 months I have replaced just about everything under the hood and much much more. I was going to restore the entire car and have just lost intrest and more importantly, the funds to do it. This will be a clear loss for me, and tremendous gain for the 1st gen lovers. When I get home later tonight I will post all the pics, and write up a full description of everything replaced, and all the pros and cons of the car.
Please let me know if anyone would be intrested in this, thanks.

Plus it was 100 bucks! Thanks though....
So should I not leave a post like this on here? I figured its beter here than in the for sale section since there are so few 1gen accords..

This is a VERY RARE 1981 Honda Accord lx hatchback up for sale. This has been my daily driver for the last 11 years, and have enjoyed all these years owning a classic Honda that NOBODY around town has. Below is a list of work recently done to the car.
New items with less than 300 miles on them include:
Engine- The NEW components include the main and rod bearings, piston and piston rings, timing components, oil pump, camshaft, lifters, overhaul gasket set (including installation gaskets). These are quality parts NOT no name brand junk but products from Clevite, Hastings, Sealed Power, Silvolite, TRW, Melling, Victor, and Felpro. The remanufactured process includes the block bore, crank ground, connecting rods reconditioned, cylinder heads completely reconditioned and torqued down to factory specs.
-Weber 32/37 DGEV progressive carburetor. (Eliminates the need for the notorious Honda vacuum line mess!
-Alternator-(Bosch)
-Starter- (Bosch)
-Flywheel
-Clutch – (Beck & Arnley)
-Clutch slave cylinder (Beck & Arnley)
-Crankshaft Pulley (OEM from Honda)
-Battery including all wiring and clamps (From costco under warranty for 3 years)
-A/C compressor ( OEM Nippon Denso)
-Water Pump
-Power steering pressure hose
-Distributor (Bosch)
-Cap, rotor, spark plug wires (Bosch), spark plugs (A/C Delco), fuel filters
-Fuel pump
-All belts including timing (Dayco)
-All 4 tires w /98% tread left – Michelin w/road hazard warranty. (Costco)
-Alignment done- car rides straight as an arrow
-Dash board pad
-Steering wheel
-Floor mats
-Headlamps
-Wiper blades
-Many new hoses and clamps.
-Wheels were sanded down and repainted.
Replaced Over the last few years:
-Pioneer CD player with Sony 6x9’s in the rear and Polk in the front.
-Seats, floor, and headliner were replaced.
-Front and rear brakes & rotors.
The Pros:
- Almost EVERYTHING on the engine has been replaced and works new.
- Many more new parts.
- Excellent gas mileage
- Improved hp gain with the Weber carburetor.
- Cranks right up in the morning even after sitting for a week
- Cold A/C
- Very rare classic Honda
- Car is 50% finished to restore.
- My loss is your gain.
The Cons:
- Car has rust in a few places as seen in the pictures.
- Power steering pump is not hooked up. ( New crank pulley did not come with the belt option) Being a little car, it actually drives better and more stable.
- Needs paint and some body work
- The Float in the carb could be adjusted, Feels flooded after sitting for an hour and you go to start it, but still starts right up after about 4 seconds.
Overall this car would make an excellent daily driver. The mileage on the car reads 53,xxx. I’m not sure how many times it has rolled over, but is most likely 153,xxx. You could always do a carfax report to find the actual mileage over the years. This would make an excellent first car, collector car, project car, or even parts car! I have spent over $4000 and a lot of time and effort on this little Honda! The price I am asking is $2000. I am open to hear any trades you might have to offer.

Man, that thing sounds mechanically sound! Good luck with the sale! Breaks my heart to see the rusty spots, especially with all the love you've put into it. :(

Did you mention where it's located ?
Always sad to see rust on an otherwise cared for car.
