I have removed almost all of the vacuum lines including the white valves. And Just hooked up the lines shown in the stage one vacuum line removal and am now experiencing hesitation problems. Once over 4k rpm's it takes off but under that it seems gutless and will actually die if i hold the gas pedal down. This only happens when the motor is warmed up. In order to pick up speed i have to pump the gas pedal,if i hold the pedal steady the rpms drop and will die.

Thank you for any help, i really need it lol
Crucial.

Should also note that it back fires occasionally. But idles great. Maybe its to rich?

You might haver a vacuum leak, did you plug the vacuum ports you removed with vacuum caps?

^^ absolutley

you can probably stand to advance the distributor some now after vac removal, makes a huge difference !! and make sure your advance vaccuum lines are connected according to the Stage one how to.

I plugged everything i could find but i think the pvc valve is leaking. I do have a leaking head gasket that im going to fix soon.
When driving the car i noticed that if i give it barely any gas it runs good. Another note that several months ago i hollowed out the catalytic converter. Also the car is an automatic.

Thank you for your reply's....

Also i wanted to know if it was ok to remove the egr tube. Tomorrow i am gonna make a cover plat for the actual egr valve.

You might want to readjust the Throttle Value Cable, your throttle cable itself and look through some of the stickied threads for more help.

Yes, have removed egr tube and plated the valve opening, make sure there is a good seal between the two ports or you are just inviting an open egr symptom.
Also removed and plugged air pulsing thingy whooper, with great success for "off road" use only.

Already adjusted the throttle and tv cable. I think it has to do with the head gasket leaking and /or to rich. I had changed the coolant hose to intake manifold by the water pump about 2 weeks ago and now i can see oil splattered on it from the head gasket.

Just wanted to give a update on the problem i WAS having. I found out that the problem i was having had nothing to do with that vacuum removal but with the venturis. The main venturi screw had fallen out and the secondary was about to. Pick N Pull is closed today so i could not get another screw. So i removed the secondary and used it on the main which fixed the lower rpm issue. Tomorrow i will go get another screw for it.

When i removed the top hat i did the stage 4 vacuum removal too. Lol i used a piece of wire to connect the secondary to the main. Seems to work alright for now. But i work in a machine shop so ill have one of the brake press operators bend me a part for it.

Thanks for the help people, very appreciated.

I had a question about the thermovalve.

Does it only have vacuum when the engine is cold?

That picture just above this post is only partial. Where can I find the whole thing?

The thermovalve itself has no vacuum unless connected to manifold vacuum, or in the case of the secondary diaphragm (venturi vacuum).

I think they opened when cold to bleed vacuum through #17... but honestly I forgot which thermovalve did what, it's been a while. Just search some old posts or wait for Lost.
