In the midst of fabbing up a g16b motor for my swift (1.6 block with 1.3 dohc head) and im in need of some rods.

So does anyone know
a) journal diameter of rod
b) rod length
c) rod weight? (doubt it)
d) piston pin diameter

of a stock a20 motor. the rods are probably too long but I have 2 of these motors kickin around, its worth a shot

i know this isnt related, but ive read that honda d16 internals would work on a g16 swift engine i THINK (cant remember specifically)

yes, I can use the 16 crank in my g16, but it needs to be machined or the counterweights hit the block or something. the d15 fits, but has less stroke.

I want to know if these a20 rods will work in the 1.6. I doubt it though, like I said. I should probably look for some d16 rods I think they work on the crank, but I got some more research to do. Would be convenient if the rods in the a20 were 138.5mm or damn close to it. even better would be a 19mm piston pin, but im thinking im gonna look for a 20. the 4agze rods work with the 1.3, but they arent long enough for the 1.6 block, and ill probably have pistons slamming into counterweights

also, im looking for a 44mm rod journal size. d16b16/b18 etc are all 45mm

A20A big end bore is 45mm. Wrist pin bore is 20mm.

so it is 45mm. then that means its probably longer than the 1.6 rod would be essentially useless to me. damnit.

If I were to use the b16 rod (which I can) can I get 1mm overside rod bearings for cars? I see 0.25 and 0.50 so im guessing 1mm is too much?

sigh, it seems Im not going to find any rods 44mm

edit: but just for shits do you know how long they are?

No, I don't know length. I just found bore specs in my manual.

I didn't take any measurements. But here is a pic. You might be able to call Napa or Honda dealer to get them measurements.
