the washer tank is coming along, this will allow me to use the space occupied by the current tank in order to mount an odyssey battery. why did they make the tank so big anyway?
approximate location where the washer tank will sit after installation,i will make an upholstered piece to cover it up after it's in place.

pump end, this is one of those big 1970's pumps for v8 land yachts, I found it still in the package in a secondhand store. so plenty of washer fluid through one nozzle
http://lh3.google.com/lostforawhile/Rwrrj5jZ1uI/AAAAAAAAAgQ/EtDfFCgz_M0/S4020241.JPG?imgmax=512
other end, this will have a remote filler neck under the hood, the smaller fitting is the vent,it connects to a small check valve, like one of the ones in the black boxes, it allows air in to replace fluid pumped out.

my unasked for help, reminds me of cah, what does it do? huh? huh? is it food can i chew on it?

ok a lot more done, have been working on getting the line in there, had to pull the blower out with the dash in, and run the line through the bulkhead, about an eigth of an inch from the blower unit. then hook up the hose way under the cowl area in there. even had to make a special tool to deburr the hole way back in there. this also involved greasing up a glove and holding the shaft from the deburring tool,to put pressure on it. but that part is in,i still don't have the filler in,i need to make some brackets to do this . what a son of a bitch of a job. when this tank is in and functional,i can remove the factory tank, and start making odyssey brackets.

little bit more work on the washer tank filler. i'm working on getting it installed right now,it's painted, and i still need to paint the bracket. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b205/moultriemanicmechanic/S4020390.jpg?t=1193603175
I will make a trim piece to go around it later on. just fitting everything right now.
filler neck in self etch primer.

filler neck,it looks off center, because i had to move it slightly to the left. the extra holes, are because I had to modify the mounting on the fly. no one will ever see them anyway.http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b205/moultriemanicmechanic/S4020392.jpg

first test of the plumbing of the washer tank, still have to take off the bracket to paint it,but i filled it with a coke bottle full of water, and the water went down ok,into the tank. i was worried about the angle of the tubing, affecting the flow, but it flowed fine. dumb ass here, forgot to plug off the outlet end of the pump though. anyone got a towel? i forgot some of the fluid will flow out the pump due to gravity feed. shouldn't be a problem though having it goes through the entire tubing line.

somebody at work mixed up some weedeater gas in a washerfluid bottle, well it wound up in a car's washer system. (hell its blue aint it)
I was test driving it for a fuel smell, never could find it in the shop so I used the car to run a work errand found out why.... the first time I hit the washers... good thing nobody was smoking ehh

the cowl is back in for the moment,i will put the rubber corners back in after i finish the trim and paint it. i changed the upper fasteners to a Gm type push to lock body clip, i just made the holes in the body and the plastic cover slightly larger. this is much better then the factory expanding screw into rubber grommet. if i want to remove the cowl, I just pull up the centers, and remove the bottom fasteners. on the bottom,i got rid of plastic fasteners completly. each hole has a plate nut riveted under it. now the bottom fastens with 6-32 screws and washers. I will post a pic later of the jig i made to locate the rivet holes, and center the nut plates. a lot of work that no one will probably ever see. but it works. I still need to move the oil pressure block to the opposite side of the cowl . on the inside i mean. also have to installl the aluminum block that the pressure sender for the oil cooler installs into. the oil pressure block is the thing on the firewall to the right, with the 90 degree brass fitting on it's side. this sends pressure to my gauge, and the warning sender is also installed into it. as well as a gauge under the hood. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b205/moultriemanicmechanic/S4020418.jpg?t=1193957993

couple of parts i am putting in while the cowl cover is off, this is the sender that shows oil pressure at the oil cooler, it's going behind the cowl, and the AN fitting goes through a rubber grommet, into the engine compartment. the gauge will be mounted behind a dark piece of plexi,so to disappear, but when the blower kicks on, it will light up. the tank is plumbed,it wills fine, everything works, all i have to do now is wire it into the car. pictures tomorrow. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b205/moultriemanicmechanic/S4020421.jpg?t=1194142209

it turned out the book was wrong, the power for the washers going into the small plug is green with a solid black stripe, the output wire to the front washer motor is black with a yellow stripe. the book shows all wires as green with a solid black stripe,

IT"S ALIVE!!! and for some reason my window is a lot cleaner then the old system. I wonder if the old tank has years of crap in it?
takes a couple of seconds to reach the window,if it hasn't been run,i need to just install a check valve is all.

ok heres a few more, the cover with the mooneyes pedal, and the tank itself. . the clear hose in front of the pump tells me if the tank is empty or not, you unscrew the cap under the hood in the cowl, and fill until it wont take anymore if you look at the top of the tank theres a check valve that lets air in as the level drops.http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020247.jpg

yea everyone thinks the tank is in the cowl, because you unscrew the cap, and it looks like the top of a tank. it's a trick setup.
