dam dude, you ask these questions at 4:43am EST, what do you expect.. :)

You can make it run rich by putting adjustable resistance on the temp sensor, but not the one for the guage, the one for the ECM. You can also put in a 160 degree thermostat.

what about leaning it?

what about leaning it?

for rich you make the temp sensor (the ecm one) read cold, for leaner you make it read hot. this is set for the temp of air, thus cold air is denser so the system bumps up fuel, hot air is not as dense thus less fuel needed for a proper burn. atleast thats how i "think" it could be done

yeah good shit. i had an idea about that too but the ecu woodnt let the engine run too lean but yeah

its an old mustang 5.0 trick, you use a potentiometer which is basically like a volume knob on radio, that provides variable adjustable ressistance. You can mount it undrer your dash. If you hunt around maybe on jegs or a mustang site for late 80's mustang performance you may find switch kit or the size pot switch you can use.

I guess you could do it also , never tryed it, by getting a fine adjustable thermostat controler from like a HVAC system (commercial as in hospitols etc use) the uses vacuum controls, and do the same thing with your MAP by very finely regulating the vacuum signal.

note that the trick is normaly done along with a wide band A/F gauge as to you dont want to go to lean or to rich, if your good at soldering and wireing you can pick up one of those potentiometer knobs at almost any elctical hobby store, i have 4 of them kicking around someplace in a box right now as a matter of fact

yes on the pot switch , if you get one with several terminals you can predetermine Max and Min by connecting the signal wires to which ever ones do the trick without worrying about having "too much volume" lol

i wonder if u can also use the 3 terminals on a pot having the middle one as the signal and the other 2 to a + and - of some sort to make it work

well depends on the quality of the switch you use. The idea is variable resistance, just like the sensor is. The sensor is not on/off but it gradually changes resistance.
I suppose if you configure it so, you could use regular output for the the sensor in a bypass terminal on the switch, and then full on for full enrichment. Again that would depend on the quality and capability of the switch.
Let me see if I can find out and post link(s)

I think a 10k pot is what the elc. said here at work said looking at the sensor output. I just never got around to doing it.
