I used 2 cans of engine degreaser on her saturday night
in preperation for the tranny i am putting in tomorrow
I just adjusted the valves and re-sealed the fuck outta the valve cover

I drove it to orange county and back sat. night

then today I noticed more wet oil on my engine tag and when I run my finger
under teh distributor and valve cover it stays clean.

I had 3 different friends shops look at it
and they all thought what i did

from what i hear its pretty rare to leak frum there
(nothing getting in the cooling system either)

Many members on 3geez do not trust mechanics, me being one of them. I would do it myself.

it could be from the distributor seal.

amazing but true, I don't and I am an automotive technician... Only a few people I trust working on my stuff besides me.

warrentys like that, you still stand a good chance of a bill for items "not covered"

It is not that an uncommon area for oil leak, on any Honda engine as far as I know

The head may need retorqued, also make sure there isnt a piece of something under the valve cover. Those little foam seals on oil bottles have been known to come out and get in there, anything the size of a dime could block oil return holes.
