remember to use a razor to clean out the old gasket and dont use any gasket remover because it might go into the oil and coolant. when you put it back get a honda OEM gasket....and its easy to change the timing belt and have a new fancy adjustable cam gear.

lol dont have the money for the gear, timing belt was done not to long ago...i think 30k miles ago its still good.

That engine must have been taken care of pretty well :)

might of been rebuild on the bottom end? did you compression test it?

Maybe the belt was replaced 30k ago, but are you really going to try and save $10 for a new belt and have to replace it again in 30k? Or you could spend the $10 and not replace it for another 60k... :)

Maybe I missed some other thread, but how come you pulled the head?

i pulled the head off at first because my spark plug kinda shot itself out of it, and i am going to rebuild the top end. after i pulled it so its a win win situation.

man just like i was saying in the aim chat. you got an easy job, you saw what my pistons looked like with alot less miles so sometihng had to be done to that.. just do like there saying razor off the old gaset (be carefull on head since it can dig in) clean your old valves up, check head for warpage if good slap some new valve seals in and your set... you said a spark plug fell out? now that the head is off can you tell if it just unscrewd itself and backed itself out? or did it strip out?

those pistons do look like they have been replaced, I dont think the oem had 4 valve recessions, but I could be wrong.
Just a hint, you may want to go ahead and replace the oil filter base seal and check your pvc plumbing while you have all that off, much easier to get too now!!

stock has four recesses. i forget it was some kind of logical reason. engine looks clean. and put in a new timing belt. and why are there jumper cables hooked to your battery?

it was a battery charger that wasnt plugged in at the moment.

oems do have 4 recessions. these are non-interference engines.

A homemade check for the valves seating good is to get all 3 valves off the cam lobe, turn the head up-side down & pour water on the top of the recess. Watch for leaks on the intake & exhaust ports.

Must be no one is "feeling it". (valve seating)
