WOOT!!! Got my short shifter installed today! I had to get my dad's help taking the exhaust off, and putting it back on though. Thing is heavy as hell. I set it as short as it would go, and consiquently had to hammer the heat shield above the carb in a little bit. It still rubs in 5th and reverse, but you can't hear it with the engine running. I'll go back in and fix it once I take the exhaust off to install the new one cuz I'm lazy. :violin: It feels way shorter than 30% though. feels more like 70-80% shorter. My shifts now are about an inch, if not less. Thanks 87PreludeA20A3!

ps. sorry I don't have pics. Forgot to take them during the install.

edit: added pics. Yes my car is dirty. I also have the speaker covers. I just took them off to paint them since I removed the dumb looking fabric stuff.

I'll take some pics of the shifter tomorrow. It's all installed now, so it's not really that exciting. One of the other perks is that my boot doesn't slide down and show the shifter anymore since it's so short now.

It's a pacesetter out of prelude. Bolts right in. Aside from getting the heat shield back on, it was a pretty easy job. It took me about 2 hours, but that's because I've never done it before, and I'm still a newb when it comes to working on cars. :Owned:

thats what im waiting for...go out and take out the 3gee tranny...and install the teg gears...then install my short shifter, 9 pound fly, excedy clutch....drivetrain will be kinda bulletproof. long gears sucks for getting up for speed. i have to drop it to 4th gear lots of times just to get the car moving to like 80mph.

his engine prolly makes power in a different spot to your stock one :P

i know with mine on the open road when i pass cars i dont do what every civic has to do and change to 3rd and floor it i just plant boot in 5th and it pulls good...

you should try adjusting your valves
i have found that if you put them on the tighter end of the range that they give you it moves your power band lower, like mine starts at about 2k which is great for around town, but on the freeway going from 80 to 100 its not as strong.
mine are set at .006(intake) and .010(exhaust)

i have mine set to stock settings but i have a stage 2 cam and that thing does not give power till around 3000-unknown beacuse i hit my 7200 RPM rev limiter

haha. yeah it needs a good cleaning. It's raining today, so I don't really want to go outside, but the next time the weather is nice I'll clean up my car a little.

you are lucky with your super rare interior :(

oh and your short shifter

Yeah. I like having an all black interior. It needs a little work though. Like the plastic part of the door panels is broken near where the seat belts enter, and the carpet is torn to shreds.

It's a short shifter out of and 87? prelude. Not sure which gen that is. I bought it off of a member here, but if you go to summitracing.com I'm pretty sure they have them there.

Just a tip for when you install them. Make sure that the heat shield above the cat doesn't rub against the shifter. I had that problem with mine because I had it threaded all the way up. I had to hammer the shield out of the way.

yep I got one. I'm hoping to have a lot more mods done by this spring. New 2.25 exhaust coming soon. (I'm ordering the parts next week) and new carb. (38 weber) as well as other mods that I'm still deciding on.
