Only thing i wish my h had was an iron block, which, i could go with an f20b and get an iron block. A little less HP, but it still has the same head (p13) on it.

I <3 my h deuce deuce

Deadhead

H series = $2000

K series = $5k+

K series is badass, just really expensive. I'm going with an H, just for the fact that i'm on a severe budget. And it's going to cost me under 2k in total including mounts, axles, and ECU.

K's are fucking joke in all honesty.

Everyone rants and raves about them, but they're shit.

They're too new, so nobody knows how to build them the RIGHT way.

Nobody can tune them for shit

They're overpriced and h2b's are KNOWN k killers.

Trannies are a huge problem on K's, known to go out.

Ill stick with my h22 and a turbo and smash on any K swap car there is. Period.

Plus, ill spend far less money.

k = bragging rights, thats about it.

when i went to dyno my car the 06 civics si's were putting out 190whp...and the h22s only did 170whp....it was kinda impresive on the k-series since they are rated 197 crank from the factory. the are plenty fast.

considering my h22 pulls new civic si's no problem all day long, im not too worried about. Especially since i didnt spend over 20grand on my car. Also had no problem pulling on a k20a3 ep3 with a JRSC @ 6psi.

Im not impressed with K's, sure, they're great stock. But for the money, ill pass.

For a more precise answer, my car dynoed at 163whp, 144wtq with rodknock and a a/f ratio that dropped to 7.5 and i still pulled the new si's with i/h/e. Both problems have since been fixed, and its only gotten better, but no dyno yet..

lol...i remember the guy that came to the dyno said it was his girlfriends car....im not sure how much the Si weigh but sounds like a HP/weight. a k20 in your civic would be faster...but you are right 5k for a stock k20 is alot of money

halxi
11-24-2007, 02:07 AM
i could drop 5k in my motor and blow the doors off any kswapped car. period.

and thats only for the motor/trans, not misc parts.

halxi

you know they make an adaptor plate kit for a b series trans swap.

only for 92-95 civics and 94-01 integra's

they havent came out with the kit for the 96-00 civic.

Its more than just an adapter plate.

Its new mounts, adapter plate, flywheel. $1300

Then you have to pull the motor, shave the back of the block
buy a b series trans
b series linkage
b series shifter
b series clutch.

Its rather exspensive. Probably upwards of $2300+

I could spend that on a turbo kit and have a much more desired result. lol

I see tai and remy on a weekly basis lol... usually, when my cars not broke.

We're a pretty close-knit group here in Colorado, pretty good friends, if you go through the corsport myspace you'll find my profile on the top friends somewhere. Tai has helped me out alot when shit has hit the fan.

For whatever reason, my H pulls other H swaps ive raced without much of a problem.

Just the other night i ran a bmw m3 from around a 50roll on the highway through 3rd, he started to catch me a little at the top end, but then slowed down. I put probably a car on it.

All mine has is intake/header/exhaust, tuned, and act 6 puck

My car, is in all honesty, more of a corner type car however, even though the tires rub...

I'm sorry man but im calling BS on this one. There is no way in hell you pulled on a ///M3, especially not being boosted... Are you sure He was racing you? What is your name over on Corforums? Is there any way anyone can vouch for you beating an ///M Drei,

Hey Smartass, I was using it as an example.. That TURBO civic Si with almost 300whp could not beat an ///M 3 and then He gets on here saying his N/A H22 swapped Civic beat one. I call BS

halxi
11-27-2007, 12:11 PM
he was racing, yes... i dont know the specs on the car. It sounded like it may of been automatic, it was a late 90's, not as new as the one in the vid. Maybe he was going to toy with me, and was like 'oh shit' when i actually started pulling? Who knows.

It had california plates, so it wasnt anybody from around here, i had never seen the car before, and havent seen it since.

He started catching me at the top end then i hit 4th and just pulled on him... i dunno if he decided to slow down or what, but even when he started catching me i had probably a car on him.

If he would of kept on it, he probably would of passed me. Im not doubting that.

But as far as im concerned, for whatever reason, i beat him, this time. Its just like if i raced a stock d16 civic and lost... ok, i lost. Woopty fuckin doo. Something may of happend (ie: missed a gear, ecu went into limp mode, whatever it may be), but no matter what it was, i still lost that race. I dont make ricer excuses. If i lose, i lose, if i win, i win. It doesnt matter to me. If my car fucks up, or i fuck up then its my loss. No big deal.

I have a video on my cell phone that can vouch for it all day long, no way to get it onto my computer. Ill talk to a few other friends that have it and see if they can get it onto a computer.

I call BS on you, i think you're just mad because my car that cost me 1/4 of what yours cost, and by any means is NOT a straight line car, would pull your brand new $25000 car.

damn guys, seriously.

Too many variables to call either a good kill, OR BS. Racing on the street is hard to call in most cases. There are guys that think they beat my friends 550hp prelude because they floored it, while we stayed out of boost, minding our own business.

You want to compare vehicles performance accurately, then take it to the track.

Like i said, the way i look at it... he was in fact on it, i had about half a car on him when he let off for whatever reason (as he WAS catching).

As far as im concerned, i beat him. If we went again, it would probably be different, but i really dont care lol, my cars definatly not the fastest out there. Its faster then quite a few things, but the opposite could be said as well.

Thanks cubert.

Just picked up a new job making some good bank, so, hopefully it'll go somewhere.

deadhead....like the wheels, although i am a bit biased  What do you have done to your car? You said earlier in the thread you were going H..but whats done now? What kind of exhaust is that on the car?

Nothing extravagant is done the the car right now.

Generic I/H/E
The only things I know about the exhaust is this: Pacesetter header (bleh), magnaflow 22in resonator, and it's quiet. Had other people drive the car to make sure I got ALL the rasp out of the exhaust, and I must say, i'm satisfied. I can drive down the highway at any speed and still hold conversation w/o yelling

Koni Reds
Evotion springs (Never buy these.... not progressive rate, so they ride like shit and wear out struts fast)
Tsudo Front Camber kit

The H that is going in the car is a Frankenstein swap. H23 Vtec.

For those that are unfamiliar with those, its the H23 shortblock with an H22 head. I'm going to be using H22 pistons, which will bring compression up to approximately 10.5:1 with the longer stroke of the H23. I could go into more detail, but I won't bore you with all the random parts needed lol.

Hoping for 190-200hp and 155-165tq at the wheels.

I'm still compiling parts, it's going to be a slow process. The goal is to have it swapped and running by January 22nd when school starts.

It will be fairly quick. Shooting for 14's at Bandimere (allocate 1.1 sec difference at sea level, so 13's essentially)

This was fun to read.

I kinda like having a completely stock 70HP Civic. I can't even pretend I have any sort of rep to maintain. If I say I beat any car in a race, at all, ever, you'll know I'm lying.

And every Civic on this thread looks great. I still want to see more hatches though.
