I'm trying to find out if my heater is working right or if it's broken/disconnected somewhere. I posted earlier but no responses so I'm trying again.

Is there a way to turn off the side dash vents in theses '87's?

Does anybody know how to get heat to come out of the center vents? The toggle switch that should go from outside air to heated air doesn't seem to do anything.

Anybody know what it takes to fix it?

Thanks.....

For the side vents, there are two lever under the dash on the right of the steering wheel that closes and opens those vents.

For the center vent, hot air should be blowing if the center lever is push up (I THINK) (if it's COLD air the picture will show BLUE shooting to the face!!). And disable fresh air to try.

Thanks...and sorry about making the new thread. I'll try to behave, promise!

I think I'm learning that there's really a 3.1-G (86 and 87) and a 3.2-G (88 and 89) The interior headliner is different material and the drivers shoulder belt doesn't adjust up and down the door post on the 87 like it does on 89.

I still don't know if there's away to switch off the side vents in the 87 tho? Anybody got one that knows how to work it? Thanks
