I finally got the new wing mounted up and washed the old girl, so I decided to snap some new pics. Enjoy!

Side shot with the new wing in view.

And one under da hood with the new wiper wing in view too. This thing really does help out a lot on the down stroke. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p248/666Bones666/NewPics11-17-07/Engine_01.jpg
They come standard on the 4Gs but the arm dont fit on a 3G so ya gotta cut or drill out the rivets and then drill holes on a 3G arm to mount it up. Too simple to bother with a "how to".

For all of the old school restorer folk out there ... found a card for the tilt steering from a Prelude. Just replace the pic with a 3G pic for a fresh from the factory lookin card!

Oh yea,
That's one hell of a ground terminal!

It's a cheapy ebay ground kit with a custom made main ground cable, but it definately does help out. Now if I could just figure out why I keep frying the top injector seals I'd be set.

Looking good. Are you sure that it's the top seals that are leaking? I replaced all of mine only to find that they were leaking where the plastic met the metal body of the injector.

Pretty sure. It looks like that brownish goop ya get when injectors leak is built up where the top of the injector fits into the fuel rail. And they were just installed new last year so the injector itself shouldn't be broken down yet.

Heheh thems the old aftermarket vent shades on it still in the pics. I haven't had time to install the Honda factory ones I got from the yard that day so far. Probably install 'em this weekend. Both of the front door visors are cracked though so I'll need to make sure the cracks are sealed first.

Bummer about yer ignition wire though. The new project looks good too.

As long as I get pics at a distance or an angle ya cant see the busted up stuff very well. If ya get up close and personal with her ya can see the flaws, but I'm workin on em.

Hehehe the visors mentioned by 89accorder are the OEM Honda ones. I just haven't had a chance to replace my aftermarket visors yet. I woulda loved to have the ones Ghettogeddy was sellin' (no cracks in his I bet) but Xmas is just around the corner and cash is limited. The OEM ones I got the other day only cost me $10 plus tax.

You'll have another Accord soon I bet, and the new one will be even better than the original now that ya already know what works/looks good and what dont.

No changes made to the wheels at all. They fit just like the stock LX-i wheels. They even had the right sized tires already mounted on 'em. Ya just cant use the stock Honda lugnuts because they have a rounded seat, and the BMW wheels have a tapered seat.

A small update on da beemer bottlecaps for anyone looking at getting a set ...

The offset on these things is only 35mm which is about 10mm less than stock LX-i wheels. This is good and bad. It's good because it brings the wheel / tire combo out of the wheel wells a bit. It's bad because ya cant really run tires much fatter than stock sized or they'll rub yer fender lip.

I got some 215/60-14 tires mounted for cheap the other day but they rub the fender lip if I put 'em on the rear of the car. My 205/60-14 tires are a tight squeeze but they dont rub in the front or rear.

Hehe them 215/60-14s fit just fine on the front with no rubbing. I just moved the 205/60-14s to the back. The 215/60-14s look really fat (as in oversized) on the front wheels. The Beemer bottlecaps are 6" wide compared to the stock LX-i wheels which are only 5.5" wide if I recall correctly.

I think I may mount up the stock LX-i wheels for the winter though.

What y'all think of the tailight tint? I also did the front sidemarkers, and headlight eyebrows so far. I'm planning to do the front turn signals too.

The newest addition being done is the 'lude seats. I got a set of dark blue/black seats the other day and they're going in this week. I've got the matching back seat as well but I dunno if I like the fit on that so I may just leave that out of it.

I'll have pics of the installed seats soon and I'm gonna do a how-to with pics and instructions for the folks that need it.

Hey, sweet ride. I have 3 quests 4 u. Where did u get the carb fib hood? Did u really need to install the hood pins? How much was it?

Thank u, Rik

1. I got the hood locally from a craigslist posting by "89cordlx" (he posted a comment in this thread already)

2. Yes it needed the hood pins because the driver side of the hood sticks up a little too much for comfort otherwise. It's probably because that's where the hood prop goes and the other side tends to droop a bit when it's propped open for long periods. It's definately not as stiff as the factory hood. (not to mention it's probably the most valuable part on this car so the extra theft deterrent dont hurt)

3. 89cordlx doen't have his 3G anymore so he sold me the hood for $375 if I remember right, the hood pins were another $20, plus various bolts, washer nozzles, clips, riv-nuts etc, so I figure I've got a little over $400 in it at the moment.

New wheels coming soon!

Gotta clean up the 18 inch "5Zigen" wheels and give 'em a clean coat of silver before putting them on the car. That black stuff is nasty ugly! (they got 5Zigen center caps, but they dont look like any 5Zigen wheels I've been able to find pics of online ... anyone recognize the brand of wheels?)

I'm also getting tires for these 17 inch "Advanti Racing Turismo" wheels tomorrow, so they may go on this weekend! These are way heavy though ... about 20 pounds each without tires ... gonna have to give it a push to get her rolling from a standing start! hahahaha!!!!!

I dont have a close up of mine, but I do have a link to the same ones on Ebay. I had to buy a replacement recently.

I have mine mounted in the holes where the rubber bumpstops would be located right behind the headlights.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrome-Plated-Universal-Adjustable-Hood-Lock-Key-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14Q2el 1262QQhashZitem220375969754QQitemZ220375969754QQpt ZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

You can get them with black or silver carbon fiber top plates as well but those are more expensive (and kinda pointless).

I was thinking overkill as well, and will probably use the Advanti's most of the time for now. I may see if I can find some nice 16" wheels in trade for the 18"s. Both sets of these wheels were killer deals I found on craigslist locally. The advanti's were $100 with no tires, and the 5Zigens were $75 with 3 tires.

what did you use to paint those rims that looks wicked good.

The BMW bottlecaps are powdercoated gray with silver paint on the tops from the factory.

The Advanti's are powdercoated silver from the factory.

The 5Zigen's are powdercoated white with some sorta nasty satin black spraypaint on top.

Ol' school - the way to roll! Nice pictures. I like the Ol' school rims!

Thanks Bitesize! Seems like all of my new wheels are discontinued models, so at least I wont have to worry about seeing the same wheels everywhere! :D

ehh put your laurel blue away.. its all about suzuka blue metallic!! sick ride bro! love the hood. good work

Your hood looks pretty sharp too! I had considered doing something similar with my carbonfiber hood leaving the center unpainted and matching the rest to the car.

I'm gonna save up for some bodywork and paint next. I'm narrowing my choices to the the colors on the new Odyssey van's. The light blue, dark blue, or black probably.

5Zigen 5ZR. They make a 5ZR now that's a five-spoke with fake rivets, but that's the discontinued 5ZR.

Sweet!! I saw the newer 5ZR everywhere in magazines and online but never saw the old 5ZR anywhere. Thank you very much for the info!

I'm planning to clean up the 18's and see if I can find anyone willing to trade for some nice looking lightweight 16's or 15's.

I'd like to find something localy that looks like RPF-01s or maybe a set of Konig Feather, or some sorta Mugen knock-offs. I'll just have to see what's available around the area after I get these cleaned up though.

those 17's look really good on it. I know you said you had a gravel driveway and worried about paint chipping, but that grill would look much better black or removed all together. car looks good though!

5Zigen 5ZR. They make a 5ZR now that's a five-spoke with fake rivets, but that's the discontinued 5ZR.

Any idea how long ago they discontinued these wheels? I found a tuner magazine from 2003 and the fake riveted 5 spoke is shown in the lineup. I knew they were old school wheels, but I didn't realize they were THAT OLD! :Owned2: I'll have to take extra special care with the clean up / refinishing on these antiques! hahahahaha

I haven't noticed any difference in my accelleration either. I'm kinda shocked since these 17's weigh about 20 lb each without tires. I think the only thing "racey" about these "Advanti Racing Turismo's" is the stickers that were on the sides! hahahahaha

Wow, I didn't know they were that old either. I guess I could have the wrong name, but I Googled it just to be sure and found a couple old pictures of the eight-spokers. In 2003 I didn't know jack, so I have no idea how old they are.

Much better-looking than the Racing Hart replica version, IMO.

Did you find any of the stats for 'em by any chance? I wasn't able to find anything except the new version when I tried searching. I'm probably not coming up with the right search terms.

I'm interested in finding out the offset and weight of the wheels specifically, and possibly the price of a set of these new, back in the days when they were still available.

Interestingly, WheelSpecs (http://wheelspecs.com/5Zigen-5ZR_wm2.aspx) has an entry for the discontinued version but no actual numbers. You can always weigh / measure them and get your answer that way.

That's true, and I'm seriously considering that option as well since the white powdercoating, under the nasty black rattlecan job, is a real mess anyway. I may have the tires dismounted and the rims stripped down to the bone by a sandblaster. They'd be simple to weigh and measure then (probably be really sweet looking in bare metal as well).

The wheel shown in the link dont look quite like the wheels I have though, other than having 8 spokes. On the ones I have the spokes widen out where they meet the rim and they dont have the engraved spoke. The centercap is an exact match though. :dunno:

Maybe it's just the lighting in that pic.

On the plus side ... I can use standard acorn lugnuts/locks if I wanted to mount those massive 18" mothers, instead of having to use the narrow body "tuner lugnuts" that I have to use for the Advanti's.

here's a close up ... looks almost like the Blitz-08

Thanks yall! I'm so happy that it's finally springtime, and I could put all my stuff back on!

Having the stock wheels, hood, and springs on the car for the last 4 months was making me buggy!

I think I finally found the correct name and manufacturer of the mystery 18" wheels. Just letting folks know, in case anyone else was looking for info still.

Even the centercap looks similar to the 5zigen version.

I found a picture in Jan, 03 Import Tuner magazine, and then went online to verify the info.
