i just got my motor back in- im finishing hooking everything up i got in the car turned the ignition oN AND SMOKE STARTED POURING OUTTA THE HOOD. one of the wires from the dist to the ignition coil burned up i think its a fuisable link(it says 10a on the eyelet that screws to the dist). i have no clue why it did this.

any ideas€???

Did you connect the condenser?

The wires can be plugged in to each other, bypassing the condenser, connecting positive to ground. That's really the only possibility I see other than a bad condenser.

You got a dead short somewhere. I would look at your battery connections and go from there. I'd unlpug alott of things until you get it figured out you may burn up other stuff now that some wires have melted. Try to pull some fuses to your fuse box under the dash and sasve that stuff from getting fried.

lxincredible,thank you sooo much. i thought it was susposed to be plugged in, but i wasnt thinking. i guess i have to just go get the wire that burned up. i hope thats all that went bad.
