i basically need to know what engines can go into and 87 honda accord s, it's carb and i am willing to convert to fuel injection but not if i dont have to. i want an engine that will give me at least 230hp, can anyone help me?

230 hp? hmm. jdm b20a turbo(and yea, fuel injection). and its gunna cost $$$$$ to be able to do that. why not just build up the a20(thats whats in it) and maybe try for about 150 hp, then do a bunch of weight reduction. i really doubt you will be able to go over maybe 180 hp(with nitrous) on the carbed motor. or there's this big wing i saw at pep boys, it HAS to add at least 50-70 hp, try 2 of them and a bunch of AEM and ACT stickers.

talk to rjudgey. with the carb a20, you can get around 200 hp crank. however, that will not be very streetable and most certainly won't be legal if you have emission testing. similar results can be had with efi a20. and a worked b20a will add about 40-50 hp to that total and it can also be run either carb or efi.

oh yeah.

well first, my stock engine and tranny in it has 400,000k on it, second i want a b series no questions asked, preferable a B18a or a B20a and as long as the enigine alone bring me up to 200+hp, i'll be happy because i can to other tweaks to it, however i plan to change to whole computer system, upgrade it, rip out my carb, put a fuel injector in, rip out my gas suspension and upgrade that, along with damn near everything else, money is no option however i will not send sumone i dont know money through the net, all i want is the facts and stats of what could be.

well so far i have found out that 3 engines are decently compatable, B18A and B20A and the H22, as the company i found stated the best way to go would be the H22 for multiple reasons, but i still want B series however with the right reasoning for the H22 i will get it

there are a few people on here with B swaps...look around for the threads...

The H22 swap is like bigfoot...

well then bigfoot is what i need, obviously rare. i have read the threads, they all contradict with themselves stating fact that changes frequently even tho it may be same car and same engine same year and everything, but sumhow everythings all different? doesnt make sence to me to learn from that.

you have a long ways to go man you obviously need to search, only engine you can swap in easy is the JDM b20A that is being oferd for a very good price, there not sold in the states, anything else will be all custom mounts and custom harnes, since your carbed i would highly sujest fuel injecting your A20 FIRST and then swaping to a new engine since you will have to do a wireing harness hack into the FI setup, might wana think about a OBD1 swap aswell, and the H engines are very hard to fit in the car so unless your very skilled, or are planning a dry sump oil setup then good luck, oh BTW no stock 4 banger honda engine makes 230 hp from the factory, sorry to tell you

you're right. but the f20c/f22c makes 240-250, depending on the market. but good luck stuffing an f20c into a 3g. it's been talked about before.

$30 grand+ and everything i want done to my car and it will be done, i already found a place who is going to be making me all new custom mounts, and everything else, and they found me a shop that will install it along with all the custom work on that engine compartment, so i dont need any info no more:P

right... be sure and bring us back some pix after you waste 30 grand on having someone else do custom stuff that they've never done that they will mess up and it will prolly take at least 6 months, not to mention the fact that for 30 grand you could get a B20 and run as much boost as ya want and get an uncontrollable amount of hp and be able to blow the doors off everything, AND still have money to go buy a BRAN NEW CAR. but hey, thats just my two pennies...
