So, It's almost that time, Tax returns ! I was considering a b20 swap.
Where do I start ? Where can I obtain the european b20 engine, 5 speed trans and all the necessities to do a complete swap ? How mush $$$ am I looking at ?

With the money you are gonna spend buying the engine and trans, shipping it over here, freshening it up (timing belt, water pump, tune up etc...) Why not just turbo the A20?

It would be cheaper to boost the a20

Ahhh, Good point. I think that's more resonable. Well I don't wanna get too worked up until I know exactly how much money I have to work with.
I just wanted a general idea about the b20, But it would probably end up being too much.

i'd say getting a b20a into an american 3g would cost around $2000 through wohdog or someone else from nz. (as long as the engine isn't majorly shot.) for that price, you could turbo the a20 and get more power than the b20a, but i think the b20a wouldn't be a bad choice either. and just about anything you can do to the a20, you can do to the b20a too and come out a little further ahead.

your parts car engine looks nasty....the messymobile would not be happy if it had that much rust on the engine.

all i remember is that one guy that claimed me made 320hp on that a20. i think it was all NA...if i remember right it was the ebay listing. our cars do good....since i got mine i spent like 1k on my engine for only like 20hp...lol

What about a b18a1 swap ? Will it swap right over, or will custom motor mounts be needed ?

the b18a bolts right in, but the b18a1 doesnt, i think

for me its not worth it since i cant go to the dealership and buy parts...at least they still carry some parts for the A20 in the US. and i get like 20% off...but yeah...motor rebuild here i come.

some cast doubt on that 320 figure, and i think i might have to join that camp. i saw quite a built k20a2 w/ itb, big cams, etc. and he was making 320 bhp. and that's a far superior engine to the a20. but whether or not he made 320 on that a20, that's still very unstreetable. and imagine how much he'd make on a b20a.

yeah we need more people building b20s and see the potential of the engine.

Excuse my laziness on this, for not going back and plowing through the posts on the B20 engine swap. I know that there is a problem with getting the motor mounts. But if these engines were standard in the JDM and other markets, how come the B20 motor mounts aren't available over there? I assume the A20 mounts are still available at the Honda dealer here.

Make sure you buy a motor and gearbox. half shaft and rear mount. thats all you need. You can use two a20a right hand axles on the b20a

Yeah I say get the B20A. Its going to cost you to get everything here but in the long run it will be worth it. You can use parts of any 88-91 U.S prelude Si
