Most people make their own out of thin plywood.

the one that covers the hatch area, the price at the dealer will blow your mind, as far as the piece over the tire,i made mine from wood and upholstered it. the original is some sort of cardboard. after 20+years it's usually in pretty sad shape.

just use a tape measure... its only a few points... once you get them you play conect the dots on your new panel and cut away

use the original carpet on a cardboard template, you can add and subtract to the cardboard until it fits perfectly. then use the cardboard to transfer the design. the first about 8 inches over the fuel pump and sender area, make this a seperate piece, then upholster them together, this way it will hinge back, making it much eaisier to install and remove the piece.

I went for two years without one but when i put my stereo in i figured i'd better try to conceal it a little. i got lucky and found this piece of wood on the road one night i hot glued some fabric to it and presto!

it would so much easier if i had my old one or something to trace at least...but yea...once i get something to cover my spare i was perhaps thinking about stripping my trunk...all the panels...and stuff...mines all scratched and ugly...like i said before my dad used the car as a work car...so yea...gives me someting to do at least...not quiet sure if it'd reduce some weight...doubt it but hell im a teen...thanks everyone...ill try to measure it up sometime soon...when im not feeling lazy and ill try to get some pic of my car

if i had a hatch id strip my rear seat and rear panels but thats just me lol Weight Reduction FTW

^^ Lol CAH... for the extra couple pounds you save is gets damn loud in there. My friend did the same with his 240sx... with no back seat and back panels hatches get really loud, especially if you have an exhaustIMO not worth it.

But ya, i've got to make a trunk board too, I would say make one out of plywood too... or maybe mdf?

aight fasho...plywood it is then..i just gotta go to home depot and stuff to look for some plywood and see how much that would be...as far as the ghetto weight reduction...i was thinking about taking out my back see...but then i kind of need them...you know senior year ;) lol...rear panels im not sure yet...maybe in the future or when im hella bored at home one day...thanks for the help everyone

Masonite (like the original) would work, too.

if you are looking for lightness dont even worry about and chuck it all out...i had to throw mine away after i did my fuel pump swap....gas got on it...and when i was doing it it already had a big hole...you wont notice a difference unless you are a full out race car where even grams count.

it would be cool if he got a carbonfiber one

You can use much thinner plywood or masonite if you get some foam block (like what they use to package electronics) and cut it to fill the gap between the board and the spare tire. The OEM board has the foam blocks on it. It keeps the weight from anything you put on top of it from warping the board. You glue to foam blocks to the underside of the board.
