I just bought a quad (2008 yamaha raptor 700R SE). has anyone has or used a trailer hitch on the back of their 3g. the quad itself is only 400pounds dry, and the trailer maybe 300 pounds. I figure a 3g should be able to do this. the car is not a rust box, it is structurally sound and runs awsome. I was thinking of after bolting the hitch up, maybe a few tack welds to assist and tie it in if needed. I have an 88 lxi sedan.

comments on towing with a 3g?

Still one of my favorite pictures ever. This is AccordB20A (the artist formerly known as wohdog)'s car... If he can tow this, you can tow some quads just fine.

i have never seen that pic of wohdogs car lol but it looks like something he would do lol...
thats a b20 in that car but your A20 should be able to handle it just fine. just be smart when towing.. and if its auto i would would recomend installing a tranny cooler to help save the auto box

Yamaha Raptor, you should pull the car with the four wheeler.. J/k
maybe if it was a Banshee
I have seen 3rd gen Accords with those small reese hitches before. Just make sure your car is in good alignment and brakes are 100% up to par.
For any distance , yep the tranny cooler would be a must have!

that was a a20a2 towing that at the time. That was when the b20a ran a bearing and i installed a a20a2 until i found a new engine. Tows fine. Whatver u hear anyone say, a accord will tow. Even the A18A accords tow mint.

yea i have the small hitch on mine my santa clause/hot wheels trailer empty weighs almost 400 pounds. and i've towed it plenty of times full. i made a hitch that bolts through the rear steel beam of the rear bumper. there are no rubber mounts or shock absorbers on that rear bumper, it's bolted directly to the frame with four large bolts at the tow points. i've heard people say not to do that, but thats a solid piece of bolted up steel. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b205/moultriemanicmechanic/trailer%20pics/trailer2016.bmp

awsome, thanks guys.

ps: raptor was delivered today... i cant freaking wait to take it out. I spend all night re-wiring a tow dolly for turn signals/brake lights to tow my spirit r/t to the garage so we can put in the new 4 puck and light weight flywheel in tomorrow. maybe we'll bank that out fast and I can take it out tomorrow night!

The Accord is rated to town 1000 lbs, and the potential harm is to the tranny. There's a special additive to put in the transmission that helps. If you're just doing it occasionally, no problem.
