Hey all. I was just asking for some suggestions for cheap performance parts or simple mods to add horsepower to a carbureted motor. I already have exhaust and i just installed a breather filter today.

Thanks,

Zach

Zt527 >>> Define cheap ? Your question has been asked a hundred times, the only question left unanswerd is the one you ask yourself, how much can I spend and when (?):welcome:

You figured out how to post sig, mods, avatar.. surely you can do and advanced search??
Not trying to be a smart ass but, yeah this forum has info from old school to new school, and for budget mods on the carbed motor nobody has reinvented the wheel exactly.... :):):)oops my bad ...well some have and it is in their threads.

i wouldnt exactly call the breather a performance mod.... but since you allready have that. flip your carb lid or chop it,, it will impove responce.... really i think you need to read around though.. no one is gona just tell you mods... there plenty out there but if every just repeted over and over to all the noobs about what mods there are... well it would be a boreing forum. good luck

^^best mod ive done.
a cam costs about 100 bux from delta, id get the head rebuilt and P&P also, that should be about 100-200. all just depends on how good you can turn a wrench.

get rid of shit you dont need. strip your trunk, toss your ac evaporator/compressor/lines/condenser (weighs all about 50lbs) ditch power steering, get a header, catback, cam etc. These arent all that expensive really. Weber carb helps also

Sharpen your Booster Venturis
Result = 10-20% increase in booster signal

DO NOT: Shave outside wall of booster

DO: Shave inner wall to create a knife edge ( do both Top & Bottom edges )

The upper part of the image is the untouched booster, the bottom part has been sharpened, I put the two together so you can see where to remove material from the inned wall.
